Earl Strickland Warnings 2006 WPA

I think you missed the purpose and reasoning behind my statement. Lets clear up something and move on, Earl Strickland is a GREAT pool player,He is a "LOUSY REPRESENTATIVE" of the sport.Pool is a INTERNATIONAL SPORT, so when you represent The USA,you are doing just that representing the United States Of America and its people and ideals. He has presented himself time and time again as an embarrassment to himself and most important to his country. Case in point Quote"fell apart when the must-win stage got under way. A totally disinterested Earl Strickland whose boorish behavior irritated his opponents and amused most Filipino fans who have gotten used to his antics was crushed 10-2 by Liu Cheng-chuan of Chinese-Taipei" Enough is enough, lets find those that have the talent and demeanor thats necessary to represent the USA
Sir you are an ASS!And you know about him. What have you ever accomplished in life?I would assume a big fat nothing

Elizabeth = Earl Strickland

I would bet on it, any takers? The format of posting and defensiveness are clues to big to ignore. Tick tock, tick tock, my the moderators are going to be busy today.

I agree. I know he used to be a champion, but as of late he's acting like a huge A**. He has been yelling, throwing, and saying he's going to hit people. I think he should have a mental evaluation and find out what's going on. If he in fact has a problem....he needs to fix it. I feel that in the WPC he has done a HORRIBLE job representing the USA. Reading the articles on him in the pool forums is uncalled for. Something needs to be done ASAP!!!!!
Did you hear him say he was going to hit somebody? NO. And the truth came out as he was not the one that was fined now was he?

Rubbish. Have you seen the gut on him? My bet is he could give you 3 pies start any day.

What kind of comment was that? Go ahead and let Buddy Hall and the rest of the guys hear you say that. What a dummy.

Shut the F@#% up and let the man shoot.

I think he just wants the spectators at his matches to display common courtesy and shut up, so he can focus on his game. They have to talk during each shot and after each shot. After each game or at the end of the match they can talk or appluad. I have noticed on TV matches from years ago, he does not like it when the spectators applaud after he makes a great shot or gets in a tight zone for position. I think all he wants is Quiet during each game, but all the railbirds have to run off at the mouth.
It can be very distracting, Hell he is under enough pressure with all the people watching and the TV crew walking around the table. Just my 2 cents.

Still and always will be a Fan of his.:D

Has anyone throughout the years just simply kicked the crap out of Earl for his behavior? I don't condone violence at all, but it just surprises me that he gets away with such bad behavior without any stories circulating out there about even a punch thrown in his direction. Anyway, he definitely needs some help (either medical and/or psychological). I feel a bit sorry for him, and people who are close to him and care for him should make sure that he gets the help he needs, even if in the short term he may hate them for it.
You dont know what your talking about.Get a job.

is everythink ok Elizabeth? Its seems your monolog is going the right way... nobody is answering.....But yep.. maybe you are earl and then there is nothing you can do about it.:D

Elizabeth,

I'm still a big fan! I think you're a true representative of the US. We're not perfect, but who wants to be? In the words of the late Hunter Thompson... "When the Going Gets Weird, the Weird Turn Pro"...

Characters make the world a better place to be. Look at some other "greats" that aren't pool players: Albert Einstein, Muhammed Ali, Donald Trump, Teddy Roosevelt, Generals Patton and Mac Arthur, Liberace, Don King, Hulk Hogan, and Orville Redenbacher, just to name a few. Do these people seem anything close to "normal" to anyone else? You might think it's a real strange list, I agree, but these folks were all excellent performers in their respective fields. They also all had critics and followers for the way they approached their jobs. They insulted people in various ways. Hulk Hogan wore a feather boa and put on eye makeup after being a children's idol for years (very similiar to Liberace's story), Patton and Mac were absolute terrors to their superiors, Don King promoting skills are legendary, but normal? Only in America!

Rock on, Big E!

Steve

Yeah, but if Albert, Hulk, Patton and the rest of the boys mentioned ever offered me the 7, it would be hard to pass up. Of course, Albert, Mac, Patton and a few others couldn't do it without a heater and some serious smelling salts.

If Earl offered it up, I'd have to say "El Paso"! A great player, indeed! A great ambassador for the sport, .........questionable!

As I have said in other posts, I believe televised pool on the world stage needs a shot in the arm through audience participation. Cheering, jeering and all the rest. Just no cell phones or flash cameras.

Every

Pool room has an 'Earl' of some kind. You have to work around it if you want to play him/them. Railbirds can be intolerable at times, especially people that don't play regular, just there because a friend of theirs is a player, and wants to watch.

If they don't want to watch, and behave themselves, they should go somewhere else. It's called having some 'couth', or good manners for those that don't remember the term.
