I'm sorry but I dont go for this excuse. I'm affected by chronic pain, and have to take Percocets 4x a day just to halfass do anything. Your personality only affects you if YOU let it. I play, play many people and get my tail kicked. While I'm not on the level at this pool player (whoever it is, I have no clue) I dont go around acting a fool because of it. I've been on every pain killer under the sun, and if I found a pain killer that affected my personality or temper I changed right away. If he refuses to do so thats his fault and his fault only.

JAM, I have a tremendous amount of respect for you and Keith but unless Earl has been on pain meds that effect his personality since the early 80's, he hasn't changed a lick since then.

It was always the same with the disruptive behavior back then as it is now.

Over the years, I have been in awe of this man's talent but have also at the same time, been throughly disgusted with his behavior on and off the pool table.

I know he is probably a good friend of yours and Keith's and as a friend, no one wants to witness someone they care about going downhill.

A lot of us deal with pain on a daily basis, but we deal with it. We don't use it as an excuse in our behavior to be openly called "scum of the earth".

I hope Earl gets the help he needs before he falls any farther down the rabbit hole but I don't see that happening any time soon. In my eyes, you can't change a leopard's spots.

The americans deserve to lose this, why? because when you can't keep a lose cannon like earl under control then he shouldn't be in the team much less be in a pressure situation where it is more than likely he will lose when the chips are down.

Just my opinion.

Earl was VERY in control UNTIL Peach said something!!! Nearly EVERYONE was after Earl in this one. And bottom line is....Earl came to the table, with the Mosconi Cup on the line, against the current World Champion...AND KICKED THAT ASS!! Way to go Earl!!

WHAT ARE YOU SMOKING!?!?!

Put Drago and Earl in an ACTION CHALLENGE, and I will bet you Vcash, dollars, Euros, yen, or whatever else. My money would be on my guy....

Earl should be taken off of the Mosconi Cup team. I mean, is he one of the five best players we have out there right now? Not even close.

With the Cup on the line, EARL went to the table against the current WORLD CHAMPION..AND SPANKED HIM!!

Didn't Corey say basically THE SAME THING!!! In a race to 50, and not those STUPID break rules, I will take Earl over any of the Euro team!

I just got back from the Mosconi Cup, my first. I must say, seeing Earl play in hostile conditions and sitting 12-15 feet from him while all this is going on was quite fun.

I will say something about the handshake incident after his match with Souquet yesterday. When Ralf won, Earl waited to shake his hand, but Ralf went over to celebrate with his teammates first. I think that's what prompted Earl to give him the rough handshake when Ralf finally came over to him. Even some of the British fans I talked to thought Ralf showed poor sportsmanship in not shaking Earl's hand first.

In Sunday's singles match Earl got into it with Daryl Peach which caused Michaela to stop the match and call them together and set things straight. While Earl was at the table he said something to Daryl which caused the whole incident. Daryl actually lost his cool and came over and pointed his finger into Earl and said something when Michaela was between them. From there, Earl took over and closed it out.

A few minutes after Ralf sealed the victory and the teams were congratulating each other, Earl came over to both Daryl and Ralf, shook there hands and congratulated them with what looked like a genuine smile on his face. And it seemed Daryl and Ralf accepted his congratulations.

As Earl was leaving the stage some British fans came over to shake Earl's hand which he was going to reciprocate and they pulled away, which really sent Earl into a tirade.

I really wish I could have seen the event on the Matchroom internet feed, because the Studio Ballroom was a madhouse. There were more American fans, but the UK fans were just louder. A good bunch I will say though. They really love pool. It was fun talking to them, they really do respect the American players but today some of them in the section I was sitting in were a bit sloshed and loud even when either team was shooting.

Earl definitely had his supporters during his matches, and he showed a lot of heart. But man, he never shuts up. Michaela had to put the clamps on him a few times Sunday.

It was a great event and the Eurpoean team are worthy champions.:)

Just a big mouth again. Eveyone can talk like he is the champ. Just another bad loser.

Good thing my beloved Filipino pool players are not involve in this brouhaha! hahaha!!! :D

Alcano, Orcollo, Busta, Efren, and Alex. They would have run away with the cup for sure.

The best part of watching Earl Strickland- Usuing a Jump cue. Something he hates the most in pool! He used it effectivily, but I really enjoyed it when he literally threw it in the corner (like throwing a piece of trash) where his chair was. Mike Gulassy must of been real proud of Earl!

All I know is that it was sweet as hell when Earl kicked the shit out of Right Said Fred, especially after Peach acted like a total dick

I seen the video and thought Ralf did nothing wrong. He celebrated like most or all do then went to shake Earl's hand. I didnt think he was out of line. Now maybe if he gave Earl the "suck it" motion or something then went to shake his hand I could understand it. Most Mosconi Cup action I've seen if a fellow wins and is closer to the team than his opponent, he would celebrate with them for a brief moment then shake the opponents hand. But I dont act like I see it all either because I sure dont. IMO it was Earl being Earl once again. I've never seen Ralf act a fool on t.v., but once again I've never been there live and hear what he says or acts, etc.

Boro nut, you know, I know the problem is we are debating with people who have only experienced half the argument. It's a bit like the people who claim America (or any country) is the best in the world but have never left it's shores! You can only claim it to be the best when you've seen them all lol.

Mark Grey (failed snooker player) Euro Number 1!
Peach (Failed snooker player) world champion!
Drago (stunning natural ability but limited successful snooker player) 2008 mosconi cup winner and top Euro Tour player!

The list goes on and on...:p

This is one ofthe most absurd statements that I have ever read on this forum (and there have many). Why not say that Drago can also kill Mosconi in 14.1. Willie has only been dead for what? 15 years.

It's easy to kick Earl now. Although he is still a great player (and I do not agree with his antics), Earl was in his prime in the 80's. To say that Drago has more talent than Earl ever had, I think that you have to compare their records when they are (or were) in their prime. When Drago wins his fourth (or eitghth) world championship in any discipline, then maybe we will start to compare his cueing ability to that of Strickland.

Until then, let him try to stay in third place to other cueists in England only.

Have u seen Drago play snooker in his Prime? Do you know what I mean by natural talent? From your statement it doesn't appear so.
