Id like to shake her hand, and buy her some more chips.
It's fking potato chips... not a jack hammer. You people are making it sound like she setup a construction site right behind Earl... and from the accounts of people who were there, it wasnt exactly quiet.Hail Mary Shot said:like it's o.k. to eat chips while people are playing a pool match ?![]()
it's not a movie theater! she can always tell her opinion when Earl is not playing. why can't she do that? Is the woman being reasonable or just plain rude herself?![]()

Besides. If you read the Gulyassy thread, she wasnt even the reason why Earl left the tournament. It was the people on the table next to him practicing a really close jump shot and making a lot of noise with it.
I will admit, that can be extremely distracting and extremely loud and extremely annoying if you are trying to concentrate. However, Earl was still in the wrong for just walking off without saying anything. He should have went to the Tournament Director.

Earl is supposed to ba a professional. A professional should be able to conduct himself with at least a minimal amount of respect to the game his opponents and his audience. As a professional, it is his job ( profession) to travel and play pool in many different places under many different conditions. As a professional he should be capable of having a better than average amount of concentration and composure. Untill all the events are held in Earls room under his control, he will have to deal with the conditions that are presented to him ( just as everyone else does).
Yes Earl was disrespected., but he disrespected the game, his opponent, the spectators, the TD, and his sponsors ( if there are any left).
Pool tournaments are not held in libraries or in a vacuum. Though I beleive that spectators should also be repectful to the players, or be removed. Sombody should not be allowed to maliciously distract players. Earl should have contacted the TD and have him deal with the spectator, then continue his match. Anything less is a shame.

I am sorry, I did not see that part. Thank you for the clarification.JoeyA said:Easy-E was on the one yard line when Earl asked the "lady" to stop chomping on the potatoe chips and he said Earl asked her politely. I believe what easy-e had to say.

How much do you want to play each set of one pocket for?

Yeah, it wasnt much of an accomplishment. People have pissed Earl off in the past for not saying or doing anything at all (Ie. Nick VDB's family during the North American Open)easy-e said:Earl's opponent didn't need to say anything, he hadn't even had the chance to shoot yetEarl didn't say a rude comment to the lady, I know because I was RIGHT NEXT TO THEM. The woman continued laughing after he had left, like she had accomplished something. Like I said before, she was a *****.
