Earl the pearl dose it again !!

Thanks for letting that be known, as I was fairly certain that was the case. Silly, short-sighted comments like Jimmy-Leggs' should be taken with a grain of salt or disregarded altogether. If the TD is never informed of an incident then how should he/she resolve it?

I guess Shannon should be allowed to continue running tournaments now since the facts are all in.
As far as the TD not knowing this, hey, thats earl own problem.Cry on earl.
And as far as your comment(at least i have an opinion, where you read everyone elses opinion before you give yours.Tell your wife or girlfriend to have alittle respect to the pros before she inhales that bag of chips.

In other professional sports like tennis or golf, it is expected that the audience quiet down when playing is underway.

Earl's request to have the woman stop eating chips was certainly a reasonable request. He should have spoken to the referee about it.
oh c'mon, If I can play run out pool with a juke box blaring at top volume the a little tiny potato chip shouldn't bother a professional.

Time to grow up Earl.

I was there and watched the whole Earl incident. Earl asked politely for the woman to eat her chips after his match, he even offered to buy her the biggest bag of chips in town if she would wait. The woman replied "No, shut up and shoot pool you cry baby." This isn't an exageration either. I would have been pissed too if I was Earl.....would I have walked out? No, that was disrespectful to the tournament directors and the gentleman who owned him in the auction. But that woman was a *****.

WOW!!! Isn't it funny how these facts where ommitted in the orginal post that simply stated "Earl does it again"!!!

It is more like saying that it's all Earl's fault and the potato chip lady got nothing to do with it! talking about biased judgment ! :(

Lemme clarify some things here concerning Earl. I completely don't agree with Earl's past dishonest and outrageous actions like the match incident between him and Charlie Williams. and in a match where he motions on hitting a player with his cue and even sharking incidents. but those past incidents shouldn't be used as grounds to make a present rude gestures against him here, most especially if you're not even involved in the game and just some person who is only given a privilege to watch a match. What is so sad here is that Earl is getting blamed for somebody's rude behavior. blame him on the things that he deserved, but blaming him in an incident that he didn't started is just completely too much of a fault finding mission.

Come to Greenville and find out !!
We'll shoot a couple of sets of one pocket .
Have you learned how to play one pocket yet ? I see by your posts you don't know the rules .
I'll even try to find a quiet room to play.;)

Damn...

... I just lost ten minutes of my life reading this thread about The Earl of Chips, etc.

Were they traditional, garlic & onion, or BBQ ? Those issues are very important.

If true, I like the woman's reply, "Shut up and shoot pool, you cry baby".

That about says it all.

Initially, I was sympathetic to Earl's being sharked by the potato chip lady.
 But after considering how Earl has sharked other players, I think that Earl should take his own medicine...and shut up and play pool, as the potato chip lady said. :p

Bill, I'm always willing to learn and it sounds like you could be a good teacher of one pocket.

How much do you want to play each set of one pocket for?

I am not defending Earl's antics over his career, however I can see his point of view.

Pool is very similar to golf, especially whn you are over the ball and focusing. I always appreciate the RESPECT that is expected, afforded, and enforced for the players from the the gallery (i.e audience).

Can you imagine a chip smacking fan while Tiger is getting ready to putt.

Consider it, if the players and organizers want a respectful atmosphere, they will have to promote and yes - enforce it. Otherwise, there are no boundaries.

Others may disagree, but I think the game suffers in the end...

I wouldnt go so far as to call her a *****. She pretty much told Earl what the majority of us have been wanting to tell him for a while now.

Id like to shake her hand, and buy her some more chips.

Earl

I have noticed that the UPA Pro Championship thread that started on the 28th has around 125 replies and the thread about Earl that started yesterday already has 109 replies, so in as a little over 24 hours Earl has gotten just about as many people talking about him than the whole UPA did 6 days. It is looking like Earl is the most popular pool player out there...lol, really tho some of the ones that bash Earl saying he is no good for the sport and should be banned, I was wondering, when he is gone who are you going to talk about then and get this kind of response for every thing he does. Just a thought.

HAHAHAHA. Hilarious!

Edited post because my comment was made due to my own mistake of incorrectly reading your post. Sorry for the confusion.

Seems to me, that if Earl had made just a little more effort on being a nicer person in the past....he wouldn't have had this problem.

Everyone is fed up with him regardless of his past and maybe even his potential ability.

That's a pretty lousy thing to say..... This woman had no business being where she was. She was the friend of a players' girlfriend! She was in a spot where she would have been asked to move had the cueball been on the bottom rail. Being that close to Earl when he is playing and not having enough respect to be quiet is nothing that you should praise her for.

I don't think anyone was suggesting that an AZ poster should be banned

I don't think anyone was suggesting that an AZ poster should be banned. I think they were referring to
past posts from folks that think that Earl should be banned from tournaments.

Agreed,Earl has the right to ask for quiet.I dont know how many times I have watched tiger on the tee box go bizerk when he hears a camers shutter from 80 feet away and nobody says nothing.LOL. Thats the difference between pool and golf, its called having some class. The woman should have been thrown out. Those complaining about the calcuta should have took it up with her

Did Earl go to the TD after this happened? Did Earl talk to Anyone else after this happened? No, he threw one of his normal fits and stormed out of there. There's a shocker. Geez, who could have predicted that.

Well, hey, at least he left without saying anything. He could have called her and her family fools, or threatened to beat them up... both occasions have happened in the past.

He could have slammed his cue on the ground and broke it. He could said called an entire nation derogatory names. He could have cussed her out. More things that he has done before.

But I guess he was a bigger man this time for packing up his cues and is karate chop action elbow pad and nintendo power glove and leaving without notifying anyone.

Seriously. Earl needs to grow up. Sure, the girl may have been out of line by being where she was, but it's not like anyone never wanted to tell Earl to shut the hell up, especially after witnessing the whole Nick Vandenberg incident at the IPT North American Open.

He is an embarassment to American pool. It sucks that someone with that poor of an attitude has to be so good at this game.

The Palace, while it seems to be a nice place to play, certainly is not a great venue for watching tournament play. People were where they shouldn't have been, all weekend.

You can't be serious. Ban someone from AZ because they bad mouth Earl? That would be 70 percent of the active posters. Then I can tell you where they will prolly go. LOL

I don't think you read his post correctly.
