I just saw this i might get back in stroke for this .... Hmm Might be looking to snap one off soon ..

They need to include more of the lower East Coast states. I'de have to drive up to NC JUST to play in a qualifier. :(

I live right on the border of VA/NC, so would play in a NC qualifier as well. As the bigger NC cities are much closer to me.

But I agree with ya, East Coast would include SC, GA, FL. And pool is pretty big in those areas. But ain't so much one tournament director can do though, I am sure. One benefit would be making the pot bigger though.

There are no payouts in the qualifiers. The revenue generated from the qualifiers goes into the championship prize fund. Therefore, the higher the participation, the larger the payouts!

The locations of the qualifiers are selected to be within a reasonable driving distance of the championship event. GA and FL are a bit of a stretch to Midlothian, VA. However, SC is a target. If you know any room owners in SC that may be interested, please direct them to me at admin@actionpooltour.com. Thanks!

you're doing a great job Ozzie ... but it clear to see, in my eyes, we need sponsorship monies to make it larger and more feasible. expecting the players to put up the cash only makes it that much more difficult

like I said you're doing a jam up job sir. keep on with the keepin' on

all the best

I'm like you on the VA/NC line,....... I live right on the GA/SC state line. I can cross the Savannah River and be in SC in less than 10 minutes from just about anywhere in Augusta, so the drive to NC and even VA ain't THAT bad, but to drive up to NC JUST for a qualifier is not very feasable. Hell, I just drove up to Wilmington NC to buy a car 4 weeks ago, it's easily a day trip, especially to Charlotte or Greensboro.

I also understand there only so much a tournament director can do, the line has to stop somewhere. Kudos to the director for even having the event in the first place !!!

Thanks

Thank you for the kind words. Regarding sponsorships - once this format proves successful, sponsors may come and the prize fund will rise even more. However, I believe this is a superior model to the broken tournament model in use today. The current model would be to perhaps charge a $400 entry fee and have $5,000-$10,000 added. The players spend $400 plus travel to attend with a potential to win $10,000. In this model, a player risks only $40-$80 for a chance at the same payout.

Many people and sponsors have done tremendous things for this game that we all love. However, pool cannot survive on the generosity of millionaires. We have to change the model and I believe this is a step in the right direction.
