Ok, here is my easy..easy..aiming method.
This method is something I developed (i'm sure someone else has too) to find the point of contact on the object ball.
No..this doesn't account for skid, or dodge, or sit, or heal...or swerve, or curve...or whatever else..this is just to find the spot that will make the ball go into the hole. If you know about swerve and such..well..you can find the spot using my way..and then adjust. Who knows..maybe I adjust subconsciously...or unconsciously...(or whatever).
So...on EVERY shot (banks, cuts, and of course straight ins) I first look at the cue ball in direct relation to the object ball and look at the "full hit" aiming point (meaning, where would I aim to hit this ball as full as possible).
Then I look at the object ball in relation to the pocket. From there, I can look at the full hit point of contact, and then were I need to hit the object ball in order to send it into the pocket (does that make sense?). When I find that correct point of contact..then I make sure I get in-line and in a proper stance.
This works for banks too...although finding the adjustment to make the bank is a bit intuitive, but I think it works pretty good.
So...hope this helps.
I was playing with another guy who likes to post/read AZ (I forget his name...but maybe he'll read this) and I showed him this system while we were practicing, and he could see that it worked pretty well for me. He actually called it by a name (so it may be out there already)....but I call it "The Matt_24 Special Aiming System". Now you can all send me only $4.95 each if you read this thread.
Thanks...
