Does anyone know of half a dozen easy trick shots i.e. ones I could pick up within a few hours and show to a bunch of kids?

I have agreed to help out (be the house pro) at a party at the weekend and although I am an okay player, I have never done a trick shot in my life.

Please help prevent me from having what could be an excruciatingly long two hours!

P.S. I am useless at jump shots.

Do a search on google, I typed "simple trick shots" and got several hits. You should be able to find some that you can handle with little practice. Stick to set up shots and you should be okay. If after that you still need some help, send me a PM and I can send you a email illustrating a dozen or so for you to try. (I don't have anything drawn up at the moment)

Thank you, i really appreciate it. I have found a few to try out and that I could potentially set up so that the kids can do them.
I am slightly panicky about it, but I am sure it will be fine.

Do a search for venomtrickshots ...those are all easy :D

One of my favorites that I think the kids will get a kick out of.

Put two balls up against the rail at the center of the foot. Perch a ball on the rail above the two balls.

Tell the kids you are going to hit the ball on the rail, without hitting the two balls on the table.

Shoot the cue ball real slow from the kitchen.

bump the table and the ball on the rail will roll down onto the table, splitting the balls and, voila'

Practice on the table you are gonna use, it won't work on my Connelly Ultimate with 2" slate;)

Top one... line up four balls dead into the side and frozen together. Challenge anyone to make all four in the side with one stroke. After a couple try and fail - you THEN add the rack frozen to the outmost ball as shown and then shoot the cue ball into the rack (not hard) from the position shown.

Bottom one... again four balls frozen and aligned as shown. The ball nearest the side pocket should probably be closer to the pocket. Cue ball as shown, aim dead center at the middle junction with draw. You should wind up with a ball in each side and a ball in each of the two lower corners (lower left and right in pic). This one you will need to practice a bit and maybe use a touch of side spin as well as low to get it to work.

Thank you for these suggestions, I really appreciate it. If I survive Saturday I will let you know how it goes.

The old 3 rail kick with the 3 cues stuck in the corner pocket and a ball hanging in the side pocket.

Check out this thread. I had a few suggestions in post #13, but you should look at everyone else's too. You can check out more of my shots here:

And let me know if you need help finding specific adjustments to any of these. Oh, the coin wrapper shot is always fun and easy for audience members to do.

This one 1hih1der posted From Tim's site is the best. It has from beginner to expert with video and a complete description and layout. If you need help or have a question, Tim is super nice and you can email him off of his site.

Try the Pool Hall Junkies 8 ball trick shot.
Check Dr. Dave's site. He shows you how to do it.
Once you practice it a few times, it becomes pretty dern easy.

Thank you

Thank you for all of the tips. I spent 4 hours before the party sat with my iPad watching and attempting to mimic the shots. I had about 5 in my arsenal and a few fancy kick and multiple ball making shots of my own to act as fillers. One of my friends who has done this before also gave me some great tips and pointed me to his YouTube videos. It was all good and the kids were suitably impressed. Phew.

So thanks again everyone, I hope I can pay it forward some time.
