Ebay same cue?

Hard to say, those are bad pics in the second one. Descriptions are identical though. Somethin's fishy................................
 
I think they are different cues. one had joint protectors and one doesnt. Also, from what i can tell the shafts are different. The greenish tints to the shafts in the 2nd auction doesnt come as close to the joint as the ones in the first auction, but thats just my opinion
 
Stay away I say. I had a high end Lambros on eBay. Both my pictures and the first paragraph of my lengthy description were copied verbatim by a seller overseas. But his account was brand new. This one doesn't look as bad, but the crappy photos and identical description are enough to worry me, and should be enough to worry anyone else.
 
Also, now anytime I put something on eBay, I spend the extra time to plaster my name in the middle of every picture. That way they can't steal my pictures. I reccommend sellers of cues do the same.
 
same cue

good pickup highsea, I would say its definitly the same.You can't have the exact same description and not be.I guess he will sell to the highest bidder and get bad feedback on the other,but for the money he is after,i don't think he cares.
 
cues

I think the pics of the cues are on different tables, so it is possible that they are not the same. IMO

How do you cancel an auction as the seller on eBay? I've had this happen to me several times because it was a no reserve auction and the seller didn't like what the cue was going to go for!

The seller is allowed to cancel the auction for certain reasons. "no longer for sale",and "error in the listing" are the most common.

Some sellers do this to avoid reserve auction fees or high listing fees. They start the auction at $1.00 with no reserve because it only costs a few pennies to list this way. If the price is not what they want at the end, they just cancel the auction.

It pisses me off too, because if I place a bid on a cue in a no reserve auction, I am committed until I am either outbid or the auction ends. If another cue comes up, I can't bid on it. If there is a reserve and I haven't met it, I feel like it is ok to bid on something else.

I think it is an unethical practice. If a seller has a minimum price, he should either put it in as a reserve or the starting bid.

E-bay should be responsible,I have seen sellers and buyers with all kinds of negative feedback but e-bay still allows them to buy & sell.The other thing is that if they get a bad rep then they just make up a new account.
IMHO I believe E-Bay needs to figure out a better security system for the seller and buyer, so no one gets ripped off.The only thing is the theives get more and more clever and always figure out how to beat the system.

Face it folks..... Ebay is out for the money. You can get screwed on ebay & you'll never be talked to by a human being. I just received a message from Ebay Square Deal. The one's behind the computer don't give a sh#t either.

here's eBay's response to a fraudulent transaction. The seller sold me an expensive item, never shipped it out. Never answered the phone & never answered an email... pure fraud & ebay more or less said tuff sh#itsky.

Quote ebay " It has been 14 days since you filed your case. Generally a respondent who doesn't respond within 14 days is not likely to respond. Unless we hear from the respondent, we won't send you further notice about this case".

If we ever get a good Pool Cue Auction going... ebay will be an historical memory for me.
 
Though everything does look similar i still think they are different cues and different ebay members. I agree with Casey i think the tables are different and i still believe that the the shaft tints don't match up. I used to work for a fairly large company preventing fraudulent transactions and i'm 99% sure those are valid auctions. Also, if you look at bassmstr8's auction.....even though the pictures are blurry....check out his feedback almost all of his feedback comes from pool related items.

Ebay is just a big gathering place for scammers. They could care less about their members. If you leave, there's always another idiot to come along. The cue could have had it's picture taken before and after the shaft has been played with. Scammers will do anything to trick people.

A friend of mine made a lot of money selling junk. He said people would buy anything under a dollar to get the feedback. He also made money on the s and h
 
Well, all i know is that 99% of crooks dont legitimately buy stuff and both of those sellers have just as much feedback from sellers as they do buyers. Just my 2cents. For instance, the one guy bought an $800 dvd recorder, so if hes a scammer/crook, why would he legitimately buy it?

While feedback, in general, lets you know the user's eBay attitude, you never know what really happens- perhaps that was a deal between buddies. Not that I have any reason to believe that is the case in the described instance...but it could be...

Auction Scams

I Can Tell Youthat The Auction From Snooker Is Legit. I've Dealt With Him Before. I Don't Know The Other Seller. E-bay Is Like Anything Else. You Have To Be Careful. I Know Cue Buyers That Got Scammed That Picked The Cue Up And Did The Deal In Person.
 
I didn't really have any doubts about the first seller. That auction has closed, and I'm sure the deal went through fine.

Really, it was the second one I was questioning, mainly because of the hijacked description.

I emailed the seller and asked for more pictures and if escrow through Proficient Billiards was acceptable if I paid the fees. He responded that he did not have any more pics, he refused to do escrow, and said it was a friends cue.

At the very least, he did not "acquire the cue in the early 90's", as the description says.
