Ebay Unknown Cue...$50K!?! RIIGGGHHTT

Hahahaha... LOL !

Quote: "I have contacted the following and they all said it is not one of theirs and they do not recognize the maker but all agree it is a very good cue, Richard Black, Hellmester, Joss, Bill Stroud and Tim Scruggs."

I can already imagine the email exchange:
Seller: Hey, this is X, I have a cue that is 20 years old but don't know the maker, any ideas ? Here's the pic.
Cuemaker X: Don't know who made it but it is a good cue (don't want to be rude to him and want to get rid of him asking questions on some crappy old production cue)

Seller thinks "well, if a legendary cuemaker X thinks it's a good cue, it must be worth $50k, just saw some unknown Zam... Sxam... some Boti go for the same value."

:D

I may be wrong, but is it possible that the seller isn't actually trying to sell the cue. Posting at such a crazy price, almost insures that the cue won't sell, even to the uneducated treasure hunter with money to blow. At such a high price, the auction is bound to get lots of hits, and possibly from somebody that can accurately identify the cue. Maybe the seller is just trying to get as many people as possible to at least take a look at the cue.

Mali

this looks very similar to an old mali cue i had. there was no markings on the cap and the forearm showed the short splice comming together at the wrap just like this one. the sleeve was also somewhat similar to this.

Looks like an old Helmstetter from the mid 80's. I may have to go find it just to stop the insanity.

> It looks almost identical to a Lishan/Cobra cue I had before I bought my Schon,it had the same green rings around the joint, same spliced points, same windows in the butt, same pin and everything other than the veneer colors were different. I paid 125.00 for mine and thought I overpaid some, but it was a decent, solid cue. Sounds to me like this guy is "rockin" it up. Tommy D.

Holy Sh@#, You Got To Be Kidding Me

READ THIS FROM THE ADS E-MAIL SECTION
(Looks like a Huebler cue to me. Get a micrometer and check the thread pin diameter. I bet it measures out to be 5/16 in size. The shafts on Huebler cues always warp over time. That would explain the metal thread guide in the shaft.

A: Hi, That would be too easy, I am sure Richard black would have known that. He said the cue is hand made and a one of a kind.

A: I would consider an offer in the 5 - 10,000 range. I would say that would be a reasonable offer. I do not know if I would take it but I would have to think long and hard on it. So if someone was interested in the cue and were serious about it I would consider a serious offer. I will Not part with it for less than 5000 or even consider it. As a pool shooter myself I will need to buy a new cue so I am not going to throw away a great cue for a crazy price I can not replace it for. I think this cue belongs with a collector not with a player. I have cherished it and pampered it for many years but not like a true collector would. Maybe I am just sentimental to this cue as it is what supported me and my son. Gosh I was in a game with it the night I went into labor I finally had to tell the guy I had to leave no matter what, he was having a fit because he wanted a chance to win his money back. I called back to the pool hall 4 hours later and told them I had a little boy. They raged me for ever that I almost had the baby on the pool table. So otherwise me and this cue go way back. I would like to see it with a collector. Bonita CRAZY BIT$# LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
