Do to a PM I recieved I decided to make this post after some investigation on e-bay. The user land_shark1977 on e-bay is NOT me. It seems as if this person registered yesturday, July 2, 2005 and is bidding soley on billiard cues. I have been a member of e-bay for many years and I have feedback of 100%. I have bought and sold many items without incident. My e-bay name isn't even close to landshark. I am not saying this person is trying to pass themself off as me, but it is NOT me....just an FYI to you folks who have cues up for auction. Thanx.

Their location is MD..... looks like you might've made a "friend" recently. It will be interesting to see how this turns out.... How much stuff have they bid on so far? I couldn't find a way to see what they've bid on.

How did you find out they were in MD?? I couldn't find a location. To see what they have bid on thus far, you need to do an advanced search on e-bay. Once on the advance search page in the column on your left there will be a choice that says "Items by bidder" click on that and enter the person's user name. It will then bring you to this page: http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.d...nd_shark1977&completed=1&all=1&rows=25&sort=3

Seems like they are just into Titilst cues, and nothing highend. Hopefully they are OK. It is just the fact that one person already thought it was me and if something goes wrong with any of their transactions I don't want to be affected.

I know the feeling, I just recently signed up for e-bay and (not being the sharpest tool in the shed) I clicked on a spam e-mail about becoming an e-bay "power seller" and someone hacked my e-bay account. Fortunately I caught it the same day, but not before they had bid on some BMW vehicles. I contacted e-bay, got the bids cancelled, changed my passwords and everything turned out ok. In my case, it's hard to get pissed at anyone but myself for being dumb enough to click on a spam e-mail, but if I could find the person who did it he would have a most unpleaseant experience. Whoever hacked it is in Germany because I got replies from sellers responding to questions about shipping to Germany.

Have you contacted e-bay about this? If you explain the situation to them they might be able to help.

Well there is really no reason to. I mean what am I gonna say, someone has reigistered with a user name that is similair to the user name I use on several message boards? Actually it seems as if Landshark is a common name on e-bay...there is even a Landshark77 that has been a member for years. Since this person seems to be into billiard cues only I didn't want people confusing me with them. I am glad that you got your situation straitened out without incident and thank you for your advice.

Candyman- Thanx. :)

Clones of LS77-hmmmm.

Sounds like those "Gremlins", the ones when they get wet they multiply.

Keep on your toes messing around with him, you never know about fruitcakes.

DO NOT be fooled here! LS is THE super sleuth for sure!

Send the person an email. With any luck, they'll respond using their regular email.....and you'll have a very good idea where they are.
