Ebony for sale on craigslist??????????

The items shown have so many cracks that it is hard to even guess at what one could cut out of the raw pieces.

I've seen...

similar looking wood at the bottom of my firepit. hmmmm, wonder how much I can get per brd ft. lmao :D

When considering buys like that, I always get measurements of the piece, study it's shape to determine how many pieces I can get from it, then compare the cost to simply buying already cut blanks. At less than 50" long, lots of surface cracks & irregular shape, it's unlikely a guy could get 8 squares from each piece. If each piece cost $300 and you were able to squeeze a lucky 8 pieces, then you'd be $37.50/ea deep into them. That's the absolute best you could expect. The worst you could expect would be no usable pieces. For damn near $40/ea, I'd save myself the labor & just buy some squares of ebony.

But if its bowling alley Ebony it must be better and justify the price.
