Ed Farris Cues - Shafts

I just bought an Ed Farris cue from S K Custom Cues.

I'll have it this Wednesday.

I've read in the past that Ed Farris makes some of the best shafts out there.

I know that there are a few AZ'ers that have Farris cues.

My question is , whats so special about his shafts ??

I've read that they really play great. My new cue has an old Brunswick shaft that Ed has only made two of - his and now mine.

I would really appreciate any information on how you guy's that may have one, like them, and what makes them so special.

Any comment on his cues and or shafts would really be appreciated.

Like, hows the hit - do they have a tone (sound) when hitting the cue ball ?

My new cue has a forend that was made by Joel Weinstock, then Ed finished up the build.

Looking forward to any information

Does Ed Farris have a web site ? Contact number ?

Thanks you for your anticipatede response.

no website

they hit very crisp and get good action, in a similar relm to a weinstock the shafts are not stiff as steel but definately are not soft. From the Farris cues I've played with, they give a very natural aim line when shooting...I point it and shoot. That and last I knew he was getting his shaft wood from Joel, and Joel gets some of the best shaft wood I've seen. Always has that good high pitched tone to it.

I could keep going on about it but your just better off being excited untill you get the cue. I'd be shocked if your not duly impressed by the way its going to hit. Tho I've never hit a ball with that particular cue, all the rest of Eddie and Joels cues play top notch. If you don't believe that just try and go find an older Farris or Weinstock cue for sale in Oklahoma...odds are your not going to find any.

My opinion two of the best cue makers in the Midwest and the best in Oklahoma as for the hit.

I can get you either cue makers info just pm me or talk to sk custom cues.
Joel is my best friend, and I know Eddie pretty descent and both do fine work indeed.

I just got a PFD custom for a grand that is worth 2500 new, two shafts bla bla bla...I'm offshore right now and cant wait to hit a ball with it, but I will probably fall over dead if I like it more than a Farris, much less my custom weinstock. I've hit with a few buskas, capones, westons, schons, gilberts, basically a s**t ton of differient makers...and I have yet to find a hit I like better than those two...but thats just me.

weinstock man for life, much luv to mr. farris also

Thank you my friend, I know you know both of these fine gentleman and I appreciate your comments.

And your right Sir, you don't see a Farris Cue for sale very often.

Would like to hear from some more of you other guy's, as I have read some of you own 3 or 4 of Ed's cues.

Your comments are very much appreciated

I've owned 3 Farris cues and liked them all. Two had piloted SS joints, which is my preference and I really liked the play on them. The other was a flat-face 3/8-10 that played good, but not my favorite.

Like others, I would describe the hit as crisp, but not overly stiff. Very nice playing cues.

I really don't know anything about Ed's shaft wood. It appeared to be good quality, no runout, etc. Beyond that I can't say.

Enjoy the new cue.

Greyghost.

I've never heard the term, " They give a very natural aim line when shooting...I point it and shoot".

But after playing with the cue last night.............your right on, now I understand what you mean - thanks.

Got the cue Wednesday and played with it that evening.

Everything you said is just absolutely true, crisp hit - solid - it's just a fantastic players cue - not real fancy - very Balabushka like - plain and simple, that gets the job done.

I can see why you never see to many Farris cues for sale on AZ here.

Sung Kang was fantastic to deal with - makes sure the buyer is totally satisfied, " I HIGHLY RECOMEND HIM ", to anybody that is interested in doing business with him !!

I thank you for your input on this cue it was something that just added to my desire to have an Ed Farris cue.

I hope your having a great Thanksgiving, I am wondering what your having to eat though - Seafood or Turkey or a combination of both

Thanks again Greyghost for you input and recommendation regarding Farris cues - very much appreciated !!!
