Ed Young

Congrations Kam! Very nice acquisition, my friend. I tried Raemondo's Ed Young when he came back to Singapore. Very solid hitting cue.

unreal handle wood.look at the grain under the butt cap.it is better than most shaft wood.

Man, this cue was one of the sweet hitters. I just came back shooting almost all of Kam's cues and this was a close second only overtaken by a Purpleheart DPK by a nose.

yes, just got it this morning directly from ed ... i haven't played with one of his cues before either.. will hopefully be able to get some table time tomorrow :)

Have you played with it yet?

How do you like the hit?

Great cue Kam! Are the points Red Amboyna? That is some very, very nice wood.

Below is an Ebony into Brazillian Rosewood cue of similar design a friend of mine has. I love Ed's cues.

thanks.. yes they are... wonderful cue to behold ... and it just becomes a part of your arm once you are in stroke...

sweet stuff :)

took it out for a spin today

hi guys,

i got this early 2008 and though i used it for a while when i got it, it has been in the case for quite some time now ...

today it got some serious table time...

i must say right off the bat, it has the least deflection of any cue with a full ferrule i have ever tried ...

which is great cos i am now pretty used to the black boar and the short ferrules Szam which are truly remarkable players...

this stood toe to toe with those masterpieces with no effort whatsoever...

pin point accuracy and a wicked spin to boot ... the feedback was a bit muted but i attribute that to the pretty hefty shafts and ebony nose.

it is marginally forward balanced in my opinion but that only adds to the effortlessness that the cue affords the player ...

the cue has a definite sense of occasion and everyone stops to look :)

this is a true marriage of style with substance... now if i were brave enough to just leave it in my locker, i would definitely play with it more...but i have brought it home to coddle and back into the case it will go....
:D

KAM glad you were able to finally get her out for yourself!

Ed's cues are true dark horses as there are not many around. He works very closely with DPK for those who do not know. I owned one that I should have kept...I am a horrible bank player but that cue was one of the best bank cues ever. He uses the finest materials with no sacrifices anywhere. He should be putting out a couple of cues this month.

Is there anything you can attribute to the cue that made it bank better?

Now that would be a helluva selling spiel..."Banks better than any other cue!" LOL

I'm just jerkin' your chain. But...if its the best bank cue out there...I'm gonna hafta try me one. All I play is 1-hole and banks.

hard to say...

If you play one pocket you want to get a K2 tapered Ed Young cue...do not buy one on the secondary market....get in contact with him, send him a deposit and in 4-5 years you will have one of the finest instruments out there...especially for one pocket. His cues do not disappoint!

I've got a couple in my signature. Simple but good hit.

Hey Dennis,

Are the EY cues the 2 near the middle with the Birdseye handles? Did you get the EY shaft for the Kersh yet?

I am in FL now... let me know if you come down to SW FL we can play at Diamond Billiards in Cape Coral.
