Hintay lang. Darating tayo dyan. Una munang babayaran ang mga player at lahat ng nagsakripisyo para sa torneong WTBC sa lalong madaling panahon.

In pinoy terms, that could mean anything. Days, weeks, months or even years. Pinagandang, "Mag-antay kang bayaran.". Sa english "As Soon As Possible" which means "Wait until we can pay you.".

We can now say that RAYA all along didn't have the MONEY or didn't have enough FUNDS and still push-through with the tournament. That doesn't sound good at all. If I were a player, I will not participate in RAYA's tourney on this grounds alone.

If I were running BSCP, RAYA will be blacklisted already for delayed payments to goods and/or services. But BSCP and RAYA is ran by the same person. DUH!!! No conflict of interest?

How can WPA and APBU also tolerating this?

How dare you come in here and throw facts around! That's unfair!

Huh?!? Do they really have to pay?

I thought all you have to do is to announce to the whole world that your tournament pays a gazillion dollars and that's it!

You're so right! The more it comes across as authentic with the WPA sanctioning.

Hear players were told that it takes 2 weeks to wire, so around oct 20 players should be getting paid. players had to fill form out with bank details

Assuming this is accurate I think that:

In as much as it is ideal to get early or prompt payment, I believe we should wait and see if the concerned people will make good on their word.

The world is not perfect and nobody is perfect. Even people who are guilty of violent and heinous crimes have their day in court.

If the organizers can't pull it off, then they have dug their own grave and we can put in all our thoughts at that time.

It takes guts to organize an event that is not that lucrative. But if we want to be fair we need to be fair to everyone... even to the people who are we are not in agreement or at odds with.

Otherwise it will just be mud slinging. Me, I'll just wait for oct 20 and take it from there.

According to Prize Fund, -> http://www.worldtenball.com/WTBC_PrizeFund.html

Last 16 only pays $4,500. Can you please clarify your amounts?

I don't know how Johnny Archer got paid.

I personally know of two players that had a real problem with their hotel bill because of a failed credit card which was not their fault.

The hotel agreed that if the organisers of the tournament would guarantee payment they would release the players the following morning (Sunday) so that they could return home.

These two guys went "cap in hand" to the organisers to ask for their help.
They were due $5000 from the prize fund.

Their plea was refused and the hotel later confirmed that they had asked the organisers to guarantee payment with either cash or a credit card and they were told it couldn't be done.

At the eleventh hour, literally at 10 pm on the Saturday a second credit card which had been sent urgently from their country, was approved and the players left the hotel at 7 am on Sunday morning.

In my organisation, players are paid after they lose and the winner after he wins.

That's how it should be.

Yup I can only guess that one guy got eliminated at R64 which pays 2000 and the other was eliminated at R32 which pays 3000. That makes 5000 for both of them...

i have flown inside america with $600,000 about 10 years ago and they didnt care, I had $45,000 one other time and the DEA held me for questioning-no big deal.

On international flights if you come in with more than $10,000 you have to declare it-which is easy if you declare it when you leave. If you dont then there are problems-I have flown with 12-15K and not bothered but if I had more I would say something.

BS, I sincerly doubt you have flown with $600,000 with you or in baggage....

I know quite a few people who fly with more (declared of course) from poker tourney to poker tourney.

That's the key word "declared". The Treasury Dept. do need to check for interstete(international) transport of phony money.

I don't think you have to declare how much money you are carrying when you are traveling inside the United States. I have never been asked to do so or seen any indication that you should or even could. Who would you declare it to? I have traveled with more than $50,000 in cash in the USA(nervously).

Unrelated story. Once my friend left a backpack with the proceeds of a show, over $30,000, in a cafe. He realized it an hour later and went back and the bag was still sitting in the same spot untouched.

I can believe that FB has traveled with that much. Why not? It fits in a backpack or a briefcase easily. I wonder how much $600,000 weighs though. Well, according to the net, a million dollars in $100 bills weighs about 22lbs.
