Effect of mismatching joint sizing?

Quick question, I currently have a carbon fiber shaft that was made to mirror my wood shaft for my BHQ, 31.5" long with a .820 joint diameter. I'm going to be trying out a different butt that has the ability to add on extensions as I'm looking to see what I can do cue wise to help me be more comfortable shooting.

The cue is a predator roadline le and I'm not sure the joint diameter but I'm sure it won't match and I'm wondering if anyone has any input as to how that may affect the feel of the cue (more, less vibration? Feedback down the butt?) I'm sure it's trivial but the thread about joint types and how some prefer flat faced joints or anything that tries to mimic the cue being one solid piece got me thinking about if my setup I'm soon to be trying may be completely different than one with matching joint sizes.

A lot depends on contact area and materials. Just as an example, wood to wood needs more surface than steel to steel. If I was doing things I would have a custom joint extension made to fit both your butt and shaft right.
 
I have a lot of shafts and they line up with the butts in slightly different ways, some wider, some narrower and some perfectly.

I detect no difference in playability between them.

It was annoying for a day or two to feel the imperfect alignment, but I learned to stop sliding my hand over the joint and dealt with the difference.

My cues are all flat face joints. Id imagine a piloted joint might not seat correctly.
 
I played mismatched joint diameters for years. There was no difference that I could tell, except aesthetic. You will be fine.

There's a real fine player and dude that tried my cue with mismatched shaft...he took two shots and handed it back with a, "that would drive me nuts".

Your predator roadline joint diameter is 0.840
Your shaft is 0.820

This is a minuscule difference, when you connect these together you will feel a little bit of an edge touching between the shaft/butt, the butt will be coming out a little bit further than the shaft, but this won't affect play, it can have some effect on some people mentally but that's just a few guys who are sensitive about stuff like these, however in my opinion that play will not be affected at all especially that in your case it isn't that big of a difference.
