I saw this piece in one of my billiard Google alerts, anyone else??

er, uh, no...Does it make sense if you swap "Philipines" and "Mexico"? I don't know my cities. Just because it's on Google or Wikepedia doesn't mean it's true.

Mexico is a municipality in the province of Pampanga, which is in the Philipines.

A good friend of mine said there is a definite Spanish influence because of their long ago invasion of the area.

Even the country is named after King Phillip of Spain.
Ferndinand Magellan was killed in the Philippines.
Magellan discovered the Phillipines in the 1500's.
Spanish colony of the Philippines ended after the Manila Bay Battle where the Americans defeated the Spanish galleons handily in the early 1900's iirc.
My great grampa was from Spain.

So those darn Pinoys are part Mexicans, no wonder the come over here so much they know how to get across the border :D :D :D

My brother won an Ugly Hooker Contest in the Philipines on the USS ********. And his roommate was a Mexican American. Coinsidence? I don't think so
 
I don't know why you're so surprised with the names but aren't there Little Tokyo or Chinatowns in almost every major city in the USA?:)

I know they're different, but... many of the Spanish who came to the Philippines came via Mexico. I have ancestors that would be considered Mexicans.

Not to mention that present day mexicans are the result of the invading spaniards fornicating w/ the locals :)
