Efren or Allison?

In discussing who's the best all-around player, I've noticed that only the males are ever considered. Well, how about Allison Fisher??? Hasn't she totally dominated whatever cuesport she has played? From snooker to nine-ball -- and she's got the trophies to prove it!

We know that Efren beat Jeanette Lee handily when they played their exhibition match, but Jeanette is no Allison. What do you think will happen when these two pool giants face off?

This is no joke. Efren once commented that Allison can beat him if and when they play against each other.

Efren may have said it, but he's just beig kind. Efren's backers have offered Allison the six and out, and the game was declined by her backers, wisely in my opinion. Cliff Joyner beat Fisher a few years back fairly easily giving the six.

Three on the wire going to eleven sounds about right between Allison and any of the top fifteen men in the world.

With due respect, this comparison is ridiculous.

My bub use to travel all around watching Tournments, he mention he though Mike Sigel was the BEST Player he ever saw. He said Mike's strong point was control of the Q BALL....

Sigel and Varner both merit consideration as among the greatest all-around players of all time. I saw the entire careers of both. Mike or Efren is almost too close to call.

To be honest, though he's still developing as a competitor, I see a lot of Mike Sigel in Thorsten Hohmann.

When the "best all-around player" thread started, I immediately thought of the two above-mentioned players alongside Efren. But I also thought of Mizerak and Rempe. I don't know if they are quite the same level on the Richter scale as Mike or Efren, but they are definitely deserving of mention in a thread such as this. Especially since they played all 3 games exceptionally well.

We may find out just where she stands if she enters the new IPT tour, but I don't think you will see any women break into the top 20, even Allison. If Balukas has been practicing and plans a return we might see a women in the top 10......maybe.

To be honest I think the top women may not even enter the tour due to the fact that even they feel they can't make it into the top 20. But if the money for 25th or 30th place is large enough they just might. :D

Allison's backers? Unless you have some names of these backers, I suggest being very careful writing things like this...especially because they are not true.

Ive seen guys like Efren, Jose, Alex P, Bustamante, Earl, etc. pull a 6 pack in tournament play a lot. Watching the women for over 10 years Ive never seen any of them do this. I cant remember when a woman ran 4 in a row.

Efren vs. Allison

Yea Efren would heist her cash. It is not even close especially for a high money playing a long ahead set. It would be a joke. For high money and 15 ahead she probably needs the & and the break. And my dough is on Efren

Anyone can play, Anyone can win. I would pay good money to see that match up, and i would go for the underdog. Cole.

Sure.......when and where? Are you one of these female pool player nuts who have no concept of reality? Allison is a phenomenal player and can beat a LOT of men...but Efren? Why don't you ask Allison how she'd like to play Reyes? She did an exhibition tour with Grady Mathews years ago and he beat her regularly...and Efren is a better player than Grady. Get real!

I am suprised someone has the balls to put Allison in the same catagory as Efren.

Yes she is tops in the Womens side, but that is only because the womens tour doesnt have the talent level like the mens tour does. Most of the women in the top 16, hardly stand a chance against Allison.

The talent level on the mens side is just unreal, you have guys comming outa no-where and they end up winning tournaments, and its basically who is on for that tournament.

Now, as for women running racks like someone mention'd, obviously if they was in a winner break format you would probably see more women running 3 or 4 racks or more at a time. I know of one girl on the WPBA who has run 4racks several times, in tournaments.

It does happen, just with the format they are given you wont see it.

But also, i think any guy in the top 32 on the mens tour, would easily be able to beat Allison IMO.

Steve Davis once commented that Allison is really good, the best woman ever, good enough for about #200 in mens snooker. I'd believe that man, he knows his stuff.

Since pool is more international than snooker, I'd say there are probably many more than 200 guys on this planet capable of beating her regularly at 9ball. She could pull a few upsets here or there, but that's the nature of the game. I wish she really was as good as men, but I guess that's just not possible. The guys are too strong.

Still, at cuesports, women are much closer to men than at most sports. And that is good, at least it gives us something to debate about. Unlike tennis for example, where a #150 player would pull a 6:0 6:0 on a #1 ranked woman player every single time if he played seriously.

Would be an interesting Match, Sigel and Varner verses Fisher & Korr. :) Think Sigel and Varner are two totally different type of personalaties.....

It's best not to have this debate here. Allison has only been staked in high stakes action vs men on rarest of occasion, and I'd not want to create the impression she's a player that, in any way, wants or solicits big action, for just the opposite is true. You are, however, mistaken, if you think she's never been backed in action vs men, with a match against Cliff Joyner a few years back a well-known instance of this.

You may PM me if you'd like to pursue this, but I won't do so publicly.
