I have heard that he has been playing a lot of moneymatches in Manila the last month, and that he is in deadly stroke. Beat Ronnie Alcano 21-19 in 10-ball few weeks ago too...

Efren and the Bugsy Boys have been going at it for 3 weeks now and almost on a nightly basis. He's only lost once, 15-14, in rotation against Ronnie(2weeks ago). I don't think that is their main concern. besides, they are happy playing at home with less risk of losing money to players that they know they have a chance of winning. they are very much aware of whom they are facing and not that very confident gambling outside their territory, most especially if they gamble their own money. they are just being good businessmen.
The way how Efren wins against these young players, I say there's a difficulty in finding a new replacement for the magician.

A valid reason and I can respect that. But since my post was in reply to the topic's question then his off-kilter reply to my post really deserved a "Butt out" yet got a subtle reply.

Taiwanese are happy playing at home is because taiwanese has their own tournments. Their organization is strong and active. If they want to win the fame and more money, WPC and asian tours are the best stage. For example, Chang Jung-Lin has owned over US$30,000 in the past three months; Orcullo was famous in USA and the Philippines, but I think Alcano is more famous than he in the whole world.
As I know, in the Philippines they only have few big tournments one year, and the most players must make a living by playing the gamble games or joining the tours in Japan or USA. In fact, according to the statistics there are ten percent of the population of the Philippines are working outside their own country.
Beside, I remember not only Yang but also other taiwanese has ever earned much extra income from the pinoys in the money games during the 2006 Philippines WPC. I'm sure taiwanese are very confident gambling outside their territory, especially in the Philippines.

nice statistics my friend. very true indeed. however, can you also include the total population of the P.I. and also state that how many are those 10% working outside of the country?

It's not necessarily 8. if you are born on the year of the horse, it doesn't mean your lucky number is 8. you must also consider the month when you were born, as months also constitute the seasons namely summer, winter, fall, and spring. which may affect what your lucky number is., thus changing it. you must also put into consideration that the super aramith balls that are going to be used are perfectly round, so as to maximize luck factor !
