Electrical Bills

I'm in the process of opening up a room in Orlando, FL. We do plan on having 29 tables overall and was just curious if anyone running a room that size, anywhere USA, what is your electrical bill? This at least would give me an idea of how much cash I should bring with me. Thanks guys.

a room that size in florida with air conditioning, my guess would be between $1,200 and $1,500 a month.

If I ever had a room that size...the only lights I'd HAVE in the playing arena would be above the tables...and those lights would be turned off every single minute the table wasn't in play. It amazes me how many pool rooms I've been in where the operators illuminate every square inch of the premises regardless of whether or not it's in use.

$1500 is way too low and lights over just the active tables is a very good idea.

You could be totally correct. I was just trying to guesstimate from what we have here, 6,000 sq. ft. with full bar and 16 tables and table lights only go on when in use. $550 a month here, but rarely turn on the air, only on real hot days in the summer (massachusetts), so I thought with air year round and larger it might be triple or so. Tough question to answer I guess.

My bill was about $1000 this month and it will continue to climb as the summer months wear on. We have 3 air conditioners and about 4300 square feet and are located about an hour east of you.
Besides the rent the electric is our biggest expense.
I'm really excited to hear there will be a new room in Orlando. Orlando needs one so badly keep us posted ok.

Good luck!

Thanks guys and as soon as I get the OK, I will let the cat out of the bag, hopefully no one will get hurt.

I rent 2 stores at a total of 2800 sq ft, my electric is between $500.00 & $600.00 monthly in the summer months,

I get more complaints that its cold in here than its hot.

I tell them its only cold when your sitting in the chair LOL.

Electric bills vary greatly by location. Size can be the same but there are tons of factors that can effect the usage.

Contact your eletric company. They have people that will come out and
help you figure out your bill and how to lower it.

If your just opening one thing I would look into is the new LED pool table lights.

I am not one that likes a dark pool room (turning the lights out between plays). The LED lights are very efficient and give off much less heat.

Daytona Beach, Fl 17 tables 6000 sq 3 a/c and we keep it cool. We also always have the table lights on, It doesnt cost that much to leave the table lights on all the time. We pay around $750.00 - $1400.00 a month. Good luck with your new room

I have 22 tables and 10,000 sq ft and my bill has been around $2600 but i have lots of cooler's and 2 big walk in cooler's..

Oshkosh, WI - 10,000 square feet, 22 pool tables, full bar and grill, low is $1100 per month, high is $1800 per month. Always leave the lights on. We use the new light bulbs for regualr lighting and regular flourescents over the tables. It will cost almost nothing to leave them on. I had my electrician check the draw with and without and it was ridiculously minimal. Save money by trying to make yourself more efficient through insulation, tinted windows, etc.

I am never going to complain about my Condo's Electic Bill again.

my electric bill for my house was $7300/this month. I cant stand it, they have raised electricity in Vegas so much, its a big house and guest houses too.

we had(just closed it after 11 years-economy took us out) a 33,000 sqft office with 700 people in it and it ran $22,000/month in jun-aug, but it dosent have good insulation and 700 people and as many computers and gets 115-120 outside this time of year. point is you just wont know til you know, what the electric company charges-it was almost free in Vegas 20 years ago, now another 6500 foot house I own runs me $1200/month it was $400/month when I bought it 9 years ago.

In Texas Busineess can negotiate the Kwh rate usually the more you use the cheaper the rate I would shop around as many states are now deregulated, and have several choices, for electric providers Not sure about florida.

Here in Orlando, it will run you about $1500 - $2200 a month, depending on your business hours, what type of lighting you are using, how many TV's you'll have going at the same time, etc.

Many rooms here don't open until 3 or 4 o'clock in the afternoon.

I would look at your light wattage, and your coolers, the TV's, etc, and try to estimate that.

If you guys need any help on the research, let me know and I will start asking around.

I have owned rooms in the past, and the big power bill is always due to the A/C and the coolers. Keep that in mind when you are purchasing this equipment.

Your power company will be OUC -
http://www.ouc.com/

When you look at their website, look for the tab bar that says "Your Business" and you will see another tab section open up with listings of their business services...
