I won't classify her as a C player based on that one set. But I will say that there were MORE than a handful of times where her shot selection was just horrible. Poor kicking. Poor safe game. And what was with that bank on the 6 ball?? Total mistake.

Again, I'm not saying she's a B player, a C player, etc.. I'm just saying that she is clearly outgunned in attempting to play on a world stage. Makes you wonder just how she got the invite, huh? :ignore:

Yeah. I agree with you. Her being there would kinda be like me being on the TV table at the US Open. The only way it would happen is because the people who put me on the TV table know it would make the opponent look good and me look bad.

That's gotta be a bit embarassing. I mean dont get me wrong... I play like shit, but I dont do it on the world stage and pretend to be a pro.

I was referring less to how she got on the tv table and more to HOW she got the invite to the event. ;)

I watched that match. Brutal. Wasn't there some controversy with someone calling her an APA 6? I know a lot of APA 6's who want to play her if that TV match was any indication of her ability. Really poor showing for a "Professional Pool Player". Embarrassing really.

I've never played on a stream or tv, but I would imagine if I did, I wouldn't play as good as I'm able. Pressure is pressure!

I'm not sure you can call the bank on the 6 ball the result of "pressure". It just looked (like so many other shots in that match did) like someone who clearly didn't know which shot was the right shot to take. I know she's your friend and all but let's be real. She was in over her head.

She's not really my friend, we just play in the same area and I know her. If we see each other, we say hello, but that's normally the extent of our relationship. I don't dislike her, but I wouldn't go as far as calling us friends.

Yes, she is over her head. That's a tough action to go play in a world tournament and expect to do anything. She's not on that level. But I have seen her play and she plays much better than what I saw in that match on youtube. I would have beat her if she played like that... but I know that I cannot beat her playing her normal game.

Just saying, I cannot imagine the pressure of playing in a professional tournament in Asia on a stream in front of who the hell knows how many that are watching.

So how do you explain the other 7-0 match she had? or the fact that her total 10 racks won is the 3rd lowest total in the round robin stage?

She's not on their level. I'm not defending her playing world pros, but I will say that she normally plays better than what I saw on youtube.

I can't either... which is why I wouldn't even try. But she chose to go.
She touts herself as a "Professional Pool Player" and given I've seen her play on streams/online 2 or 3 times now and this kind of performance seems to be par for the course for her, I just think that she's more than just a bit out of her league here.

Not saying she doesn't have the potential for greatness. For all I know, she's got it in her to be the next Karen Corr. And considering how badly she seems to want to be that very thing, I hope for her sake that IS the case. But for right now, she's a C+/B player at best. JMO.

She was definitely in over her head. She should've taken the money she spent on photo shoots and traveling overseas and spent them on lessons.

I play in a lot of tournaments where I'm in over my head. I've played in open tournaments, against pros... I don't stand a chance. I still play. Crazy, right? Call me crazy, but playing better players and being over your head helps my game. Some might say, that IS a lesson. But I don't expect you to understand.

How many of those tournaments did you shell out a LOT of money to fly to Asia so that you could play against those pros??

Big difference between a weekly open tournament at Amsterdam in NYC and a world event on the other side of the globe.

I almost feel like I should post some camera phone pics up, but I'm not here to diss Em I met her in Houston before she seemed fun. I'd say support her or be indifferent. Come on she's around Jennifer Baretta thats gotta make her at least semi cool right

But it's her money and she can do what she wants with it. Why are you so concerned with her financial situation?

I'm terrible and can't runout of a burning building, but if I were invited to play in Asia in a tournament, I would go. I've never been to that part of the world and I guess all I would need is an excuse. I could use a vacation.

I might just play in the us open this October, odds are great I wont win a set.. it would be fun. I've wasted much more money on dumber things.

It does not help your game. Fact. I will not back up a fact with more facts, just trust me.

How do you know she went there for the tournament? Maybe she just had the money and wanted to go to China. And designed the trip around a tournament, which she could play in for kicks and experience.

I was just making the assumption she had an off day (brain and stroke). If that was her real game I could steal giving her the 6. I'm sure that isn't normally the case. Even on an off day, a true pro plays 5x better than she did.
