End Of A Tournament Dry Streak

Back when I was playing all the time in college, I won more tournaments than I could count. I still have trophies at my house, my office, and in storage at the warehouse. But for the last ten years or so, I have been unable to win. Best I've done lately has been second or third, even though I've beaten the best players in the lower rounds.

Thursday I finally won a small open tournament. I knew it was a mental hurdle I needed to cross. Saturday & Sunday I played in the weekend tournaments here, and won them both.

Just winning that first one gave me the confidence to win 3 in a row.

congrats! I've been doing the same thing lately, I'll play great pool in the first 3 or 4 rounds but then have to sit around to long and get tired then struggle with the last few rounds.

Last night I got second place in the 8ball tournament but my last 3 rounds I played poorly but still found a way to win.

Good job, Ive went on little runs like that before. Even just low points in my potting gets to me mentally. Having a nice runout or a decent break or playing a solid safety always reminds me that I dont suck as much as I have been showing recently.

Congratulations on your wins!

JimS,
I'm still in Bangkok. I'm goin on a quick Texas Hold'em trip to a Cambodian Casino tomorrow. That should be interesting. I'll be home next month after trips to St. Louis & L.A. Hopefully I'll still be playing good when I get back to B.O.M.

Dave,
We'll see how I'm playing then. Last trip I sucked. Now my confidence is much better. And it will be September, not October. See you then.
