Lacquer dries up over time

I was in the coatings industry for 45 years and my wife is a retired principal scientist. Her main focus was new formulations.

This failure has more to do with the glue and whether the veneers were sealed before gluing than the finish itself. Sealers/primers help to stop glue/finishes from being absorbed by the substrate on which they are applied.

We are talking glue from years ago and without knowing the process involved it is difficult to accurately know what occurred. Which is why I stated it should be sent back to Dan Jane's. If anyone would know it would or might be him..

It's probably going to be costly. They are going to have to make the repair plus refinish the cue.

Not the end of the world. Old cue, shit happens.

Will be great when repaired. It came out clean and that makes it a easier fix.
