Let me guess: Half a dozen Harleys leanin on their stands out front. Brings back some great memories of Lei Lani's pub in Ocean Beach. It was an HA bar but cuts were outlawed. Two good tables and cold draft beer. I never had a problem in there and went often, it was a block from the house.

It's just lazy writers. Pool hall can instantly portray a place where seedy characters do seedy things to each other. Get a picture of the sign out front and your job is done. Plenty of seedy places have pool tables, but from what I've seen, the more pool tables there are, the less seedy the place is.
Oh, I don't watch TV and don't care what CBS plays. I had good times in a dive biker bar because I was always immediately chosen for teams at a pitcher a rack. That meant my partner and his partners drank free. I don't drink more than a glass or two. They took good care of me including telling me when I might want to be somewhere else, although I didn't always get out in time.

Its doesn't matter, thats not the problem. Cornhole has more sponsors than Pool, pickle ball has mor money behind it than Pool and slap boxing is now an official sport!!!! WTF! No Money in Pool and they all have more coverage than Pool, its sad.
You're right. If we can think of a way to get people to NOT think pool is boring, maybe we can get better sponsors. But for now, no one wants to watch it... we're doomed.
