Might want to check with Mr. Wilson. Marcus (fast_n_loose) is an approved escrow service. Not sure if you need a blessing from any of the admins of the forum on this one.

Yes, fair enough.. Im not endorsed by Az but I dont need that to do business. I will work to prove myself to the crowd.

My fast turnaround and professional service will speak for itself.
ftgokie - let me know what you need, Im ready to roll

From Mr.Wilson's post
"Here's how this is going to work guys.

Markus offers a service. You contact Markus and the transaction is done in private between the 3 parties.

You may use iTrader and the feedback thread as well as the thread pertaining to the cue or item being sold through Markus' service.

He is not an extension of AZB nor is the service he offers.

These are matters to be conducted in private."

Did I miss something, were does it say AZ approved???

I do think it is great of the both of you offering this service for people.

In terms of "cuebux" and "fast n loose" escrow we'll never know...

BEEF that's "AZ APPROVED" is free of "mad cow disease" (IIRC)

I dun think AZ has any part in the escrow service though it might be great if they do have an official one.

A few of the regulars here are offering escrow service. I think its great to have a few choices available so that if there is a transaction you can go with the one you are most comfortable with.

At any case, AZ endorse or not i think it is a nice gesture and service.

Ill tell you where the difference is.
marcus has been on AZ for a LONG time, done multiple deals with all of you, and he is a respected member here.
also, he knows cues, knows what to look for if there are issues, and if a cue might be the real thing or not. (thats huge).

I don't know this guy, where he's from, or how much he knows about cues, and I don't care how good his camera is.

it's a big questionmark. Not good when you have a someone mail him a "balabushka", and it ends up not even being one. the other guy gets his money, and you get a friggin jensen for 15x the price.

just my opinion.

chris G<-----will stick with marcus' service

What Happens When

There is a problem. i.e. The ID of the cue is not correct. what is then the responsibility of the escrow service?

There is a customs issue with the cue and it does not get to the party. Is there any responsibility with the escrow service?

There is a Delivery problem (Such as the cue is crushed) It transit between the parties involved to or from the escrow service. Who deals with the shipping company?

Just wondering out loud.

I think the responsibility of id of cues should not lie with the escrow service provider. You should get the appropiate people to id a cue. i.e Gus to Barry, Buska to Tas, JF to SW etc.

Not sure about the second part so i have no opinion.

Shipping problems could be resolved by insurance. Though less then perfect solution but i think the idea of escrow is to reduce the risk of getting scammed as well as getting a second opinion before closing the transaction problem such as "item not as described" etc.

Just my opinion.

I 100% percent agree... the escrow provider should be a well known and upstanding member of the forum.. no matter who provides the service.. some one who is trusted by both parties.. somebody new is a tough sell.. i for one would feel safer sending my money and or my cue to somebody that i know for a fact wouldnt run off with either..

I think you are mixing up escrow and authentication. Escrow services are only provided to complete a transaction safely.

Exactly.....Escrow service is what it is. It is third party used to protect both the assets of the buyer and seller. (In this forum it would be the guy that collects both the cash and product and reships them to the respective person(s))
But....In this forum, that is not enough IMO, too many variables. There are a select few ANYONE would trust to conduct this intermediary transaction.
Again IMO.

that's my point.
it's another added service that marcus can provide so neither party gets burned.
it's all about safety.

DON'T SWEAT THIS MAN......

I ONLY OFFERED MY SERVICE TO HELP UPSTANDING MEMBERS TO NOT GET BURNED. IF THEY CHOOSE TO USE A DIFFERENT SERVICE, IT'S NO SKIN OFF MY BACK. YOU KNOW DAMN WELL THAT 20 BUCKS DOESN'T COVER MY TIME TO DO EVERYTHING INVOLVED WITH CUE ESCROW.

MARCUS <----ALSO HAS A NICE CAMERA.....LOL....

P.S. I WOULDN'T SAY THAT MY SERVICE IS "AZ APPROVED" JUST THAT MR.WILSON THOUGHT IT WAS A GOOD IDEA TO HAVE A LONG TIME MEMBER OFFER THIS SERVICE, TO CUT DOWN ON THE "I GOT RIPPED OFF" THREADS.

Just Curious

Ok, I buy a cue from some guy use escrow service. A few months later I send it to the maker who informs me it's not one of his despite the butt cap. Is this part of the escrow service? Or am I just SOL......
