Hi,

Here are cues that we are bringing to the show Saturday.

The engineered features of our cues are:

Stiff Hitting Parabolic Tapered Shaft designed by our engineer Ray Hernandez

Parabolic Tapered Butt Geometry

Butts Built of solid 30" core

Point Cues are mostly 5 point 4 veneer with some 3, 4, & 8 hi low

Ferrule matching the slight shaft climb taper on the end of the shaft

Flat Face Joint with big pin 3/8" x 14

All of our cues are handcrafted using our "in house" QA/Qc Program with Statistical Process Control

Thanks for looking,

Rick Geschrey
Cue Maker

Special Thanks to Mr. Hoppe and Ken Simonsen for their big commitment to creative design and execution of CNC Inlays and Art work respectively. And Jim Palm for his contributions and keeping our machines tuned for repeatability.

12 in the box ready for the show.

And miles to go before we sleep.

That's a good looking group Rick. Is that a bottle of no-doze on the table next to the cues? :D

Nice looking cues!
Glad to finally see some cues to go with the posts :)

Some nice looking cues. Cant wait to see the armageddon cue with a finish on it

Thanks guys,

It's been a long seven year journey from our shop at Main Street Billiards to our new shop in Palatine and a full time cue gig. This is our first show and we plan to show up for most of the big shows in the future.

Many thanks to Darin Hill, and Ray Hernandez who have helped me as mentors to develop my cue making skills.

I have a long way to go to reach my personal goals in this most interesting profession. Developing our Q/A Q/C procedure will lead to continued product improvement by raising the bar of expectation.

I am having fun to boot.

Are all the cues pictured are cues using omega/dpk blanks? or a mixture of your cues and cues made from said blanks? just curious. good stuff.

Hi,

All our cues, no Omega Blanks, those are long gone. I was lucky to aquire them at an estate sale and I wish I had 20 more of the babies, they sold like hot cakes.

All of our cues are built on a full core, Omega DPK were A-Joint Cues. Our shaft taper was based on Omega DPK and was engineered a tad stiffer by our engineer Ray Hernadez who was the last cue maker at Omega in Waconda, Il.

He plotted the parabolic taper on autocad to make our taper bars for our saw tapering machines on the CNC and the Omega contour was our start reference datum. He added a little more spine to the 1st 16" and all of our standard shafts have a modern pro taper at 13 MM from 16" to the tip.

IMHO, I think that Omega DPK cues were the best hitting cue in the industry if one liked a stiff hitting cue. Mike Bender's cues are awesome as well as he was the talent at Omega. DPK had a little to do with their magic as he set up that cue shop. :bow-down:

Thank you,

Rick

I'll take the Airbrush Cue as my Back has the Mayan Butt from your Cue tattoed
Best to All for the Show,
Ralf;)

That is a fine looking group of cues, but the 6pt. ebony/curly wrapless with the segmented handle is stunning. WOW!!!!! That is my idea of, possibly, the perfect player. A little flash, but it screams to be played. I would love to see that cue up close. Wish I lived closer to Chi-town. Congrats on your journey, and good luck at the show!

Braden,

Thanks for the kind words. It is very gratifying to hear your thoughts because that is exactly the style of cue we wish to create. The functionality of the cue is number 1 and the style can be flashy but not over the top ( except for art cues). We want our cues to be recognized from across the pool room because of the basic design, ringwork and the parabolic contour of the butt. Our butt is a shaft contour but because of proportionality that shaft would be a 60" long and real fat.

Since our cues are fully cored on a 30 maple dowel, the weight and balance envelope is completely controlled by the cue maker no matter what species is used. There is a cue specific weight bolt threaded and epoxied behind the pin and when needed a compensation weight bolt in the butt to control the moment arm of the fulcrum on the entire cue when joined with the shaft. Our cues are designed to be slightly front heavy about 1 to 1.5 inches forward from a standard cue.

This cue is 19.4 with 3.9 oz shafts which have garolite le inserts. There is a 1.0 oz weight in the nose behind the pin and a 1/2 oz weight bolt in the butt to nail the balance point. We could have easily adjusted this cue to 18.4 but choose to be nearer to 19.25 which we see as the ideal. But people have different tendencies and we wish to accommodate and keep our forward balance concept.

Here are some pics of the cue which is a 8 point, 4 hi 4 low with 4 veneers in ebony with ebony butt sleeve and a split deeply figured red leaf maple handle from the high canapé of a tree from Oregon. Sterling Silver 30 stitch ring in 5 positions with 2 shafts.

The 8 Ivory Inlays designed and installed by Mr. Hoppe.

Thanks for looking,

Rick Geschrey

I just took some pics of this cue which is already spoken for and will be picked up at the show.

Hey Rick,
Glad we got to meet at the show. I cringed for you when I saw some lady grab the buttsleeve of the Armageddon cue and start twisting it around in her hands. I bet she'd have thought twice if she knew the asking price on that one!
It was a nice touch to show the incomplete full-core cue to show folks your cue construction. I think Black Boar did that years ago at a show if I heard correctly?

Take care,
~Beau

Thanks Beau,

It was great meeting you at the show.

Now I have get back to making more 5 point veneer cues and I need some veneer stock. Please pm me your veneer color choices in .030 sizes.
