smell his hand....THEN decide if yer gonna shake it or not !!!

Thanks all, these replies were hilarious.

Top prize probably goes to the bowing in all directions suggestion... priceless.

I thought of this because from time to time you see this stuff. The thing that really cracks me up about it: even if you are a disgusting fool by yourself, for God's sake, if someone else is in the bathroom with you you simply have to bite the bullet and wash up. Otherwise, you run the risk of people starting internet polls because of you.

Well, I took it seriously and still do. Here's two links showing that millions die each year (sounds serious to me!) simply because some refuse to wash their hands:

If you've ever been sick because of this, you'd understand, I think. It's horrible.

As he tries to walk out of the restroom say "hey (his name), aren't you gonna wash your hands?" If he takes the hint, it's all good.....if not, then after the match you can say, "I'd shake, but you didn't wash your hands after taking a dump"

Be direct, not washing hands after restroom is freaking nasty....

Exactly!!! You're going to be exposed to germs one way or another. The only difference here is you know it. In some respects I guess he is doing you a favor by providing knowledge. lol. You can always wash your hands immediately after, just don't eat any finger food before you do.
I figure I've a pretty good immune system, my ancestors did make it through "The Plague" afterall. :)

Actually, I assume MOST men don't wash after even peeing.

Umm ... I'm not sure about the men in Washington (:D) but I'd say, just from what I notice when using public restrooms, most guys are washing their hands when they're done with their business. It's rare enough that I do kind of notice when I see someone come out of the stall and head straight for the door.

I had to post this, at the risk of sounding ... well ... umm ... gay (like I'm noticing what guys are doing in the bathroom), to stick up for us guys here.

i'd say somthing about him not washing his hands after using the restroom in an attempt to shark him before the last game.:D

(i'm kidding...but i'd get a fresh piece of chalk out of my bag)

I think back on all the really dirty stuff I got into as a kid and I'd have to say I'm probably immune by now to pretty much everything out there. LOL

This is how paranoid I am now.

After washing up, I use the paper towel I dried my hands with to open the restroom door and toss it in the trash outside.

At the pool room when I'm playing someone, I go wash up at least once or twice an hour.

I was at an tournament this weekend and had four people walk up and give me hugs or shake my hand and then proceed to tell me how sick they've been or just getting over the flu. My hands pruned up I washed them so much. I also make it a point to keep my hands away from my eyes and mouth after being in contact with a lot of people.

Anytime I've been sick and someone walks up and wants to shake my hand, I stop them and tell them I've had a cold and I'm not in a sharing mood.

Oh, and for you ladies out there. They did a study to find out what was the flithiest place in a household. Of course, everyone thinks it's in the bathroom. Ends up, it's the bottom of a woman's purse.

LOL what a good threat lol,

THIS IS A GOOD SELLING point for the GLOVE!!!!!! you can wash your hands and not worry about your cue sticking lol.

But I've noticed alot of guys at the pool hall wont or dont want to wash thier hands cuz it makes them sticky and they have to wait till thier hands get dry to be able to shoot again.

I wear a glove so I always wash my hands after using the CRAPPER!

NOW, why is it you can goto a poolhall or bowling alley, and the doors to the bathroom, or crappers, swing towards you, when your leaving the bathroom?

you go through washing your hands to only have to grab the handle on the door to open it? and of course you know the guy's before you didnt wash thier hands either.

when i bowled leagues I hardly ever would see someone wash thier hands after they used the bathroom, expecially if they were bowling. Cuz their hands get wet and sticky.

But yea, if i was in that situation, i'd probably shake hands and make a bee line to the crapper to wash my hands again lol.

To Wash or Not

Steve, you should have made the poll about AZers and whether or not we wash our hands EVERY TIME after going to the bathroom.

Since no one knows how one votes, voters would not be subject to admonishment.

Seriously, everyone should be for washing their hands after using the bathroom:

If for no other reason you should realize that people get sick when germs are spread by your germ-carrying hands. For practical purposes, when that happens less people show up at the pool tournaments, less action in the pool room, less pool players in general.

It doesn't matter whether you were taught to wash your hands or not.

You can decide to wash your hands. What can it hurt?

It will make you look good in the eyes of the "watchers" and who knows you might be fulfilled as a human being knowing that you are doing your part in keeping the rest of the pool players healthy and maybe yourself to boot.

I'd mention to the guy to wash his hands. If he doesn't I won't shake his hand.

I always wash my hands with soap before and after.

I personally rarely shake hands, it's not very appealing to me to acquire someone else's germs.

You simply compliment him on his brown fingernail polish and walk away as the rest of the pool room howls in laughter:D :D
