Bob any reason given for the number of no-shows esp from the Pinoys? Is this due to the threatened sanctions by the Asian governing body? If so why was Raga, Aranas, Chua et al there?

I haven't heard any explanation. I didn't see a list of no-shows. I think the ACBS ban is not going to have much traction with the tour players.

TTV match picks have improved a bit from earlier tour stops. labutis v lechner was a good one. darren v shaw looks more competitive than i thought, early days tho.

svb vs gary wilson doesn't look competitive tbh, but i guess both have fan appeal. hoang vs wojciech or krause vs wu kun lin would've been better choices imo.

Final 64 looks like the usual serving of world beaters.

Seems safe to say that one of the proven superstars will win, although how many of us picked Robbie Capito at the UK Open?

I wonder which player outside the Top 75 based on Fargo might surprise us with a deep run.. Some players that might be live longshots could be Jani Uski, Gary Wilson and Mickey Krause, but the conventional wisdom says that each would have to negotiate a mine field just to reach the quarterfinals.

The stage is set for some high drama. Let the games begin.

Another sleeper to watch is Mustafa Alnar. He beat Fedor in the World Pool Championship and Filler here in this event.
