European Open 2024, Aug. 6-11, Fulda, Germany

I have lost interest in wnt events since they require people to sign up to see the brackets. Not sure who came up with that brilliant idea, but I am not going to sign up.

I've lost interest thanks to Matchroom requiring Americans to use the predatory website DAZN to view the TV table on almost every single pro event.

I want to give a shout-out about Sam Henderson making the final 64. He lost this morning to Mickey Krause, but the 17-year-old has come a long way. It's exciting to see him do well at these pro events.

Meanwhile, American players Fedor, Skyler, Shane Van Boening, and Shane Wolford are still standing at the time of this writing.

he beat maciol on his way to L64. the remaining americans have relatively soft draws, if there are such in L32

shane totally in the zone those last BNRs.. 10-6. it's curious that more players don't break like him. kaci and mario do it, but most others break softish

I'll support MR but some things need repair asap

-the already mentioned mucked coverage between the MR channel and DAZN
-signing in to see score and brackets....seriously????

and dead money matches/easy draws for SEVERAL rounds, top players being absolutely GIFTED wins

I find the signing in pretty straightforward. I signed up once and now every time it remembers me and I get the info. Plus I have never received any emails from them so does t seem to be a problem.
Also being based in canada as well I get free YouTube games
All good for me!

Agreed. Sam did himself proud, and he lost to a player that has been having a very solid campaign of late in Bucharest Open champion Mickey Krause.

Something to build on for Sam. Well done.

Tomorrow is a big day for Shane Wolford. The other three Americans left are all Mosconi Cup locks, but Wolford, despite a very solid performance in the 2023 Mosconi Cup, is a fringe case. A couple of wins on Saturday would make him awfully tough to overlook for a spot on Team USA.

Personally, I love the Matchroom scoring features, enabling you to look at either bracket, matchup charts, or live scoring, whichever you please, and providing match times and table assignments. I'm not sure the fan has ever had it so good. If when you sign up for Matchroom scoring, if you say "remember me" the first time you sign in, you will never need to give your user ID and password again. Easy peasy.

I think that the large fields in the Matchroom events have been intended to generate a lot of extra interest in pro pool as Matchroom continues to venture into new territories. Yes, it does mean more dead money matches in the first two days, but in the eyes of this fan, Matchroom's strategy is working like a charm and pro pool's audience worldwide is, resultingly, growing.

It would have been easier peasier if they didn't require anyone to sign up to see the brackets. I feel like I am being commercialized by their requirement and I am not going to do/allow it.

You feel like you are being commercialised by the business that is running the site! As I Said above, I’ve had not one email from them for having signed up. If you are that worried just make a new email up that you will never use again.
I agree with Stu, I think it’s the most user friendly site to see scores and matches and if in exchange I have to do one sign up, then so be it.

Any idea when the next match will be on table 2 YT steam?
It's shown RESUMES SHORTLY for half an hour now.

The Fedor sky match (now hill hill) is one of the best of the year so far.

Spoiler alert: sky was down 9-5 then made a great kick and then a bank shot. He smiled and you could tell he thought he was going to win. I don’t think he missed after that (had a couple safeties) and went on to win 10-9.
