I have the chance to get my hands on one. It's a nice looking cue, but I've never heard of CPS.
Any help is appreciated...

A quick Google search came up with the name Schon right off the bat, but it was pictures of kitchen faucets (wtf?!). Another link was directed to some site called "Shooters" and was a testimonial from some guy thanking "Kathy" for shipping the cue quickly and asking if there were anymore "C P S" cues in the $50 range left.
I don't know if this helps or not, but I tried.
ADAM has offered a lot of brands of cues. Never heard of CPS til now. You might contact the guy at CompetitionSports in Florida. He used to import/dist. the high-end ADAM cues. Knows a lot about them. http://www.competitionsports.com/I have also been trying to research CPS cues, and all I have been able to find about them is this one, in the link below, that claims that the CPS line of cues were made by Adam.
It is the 3rd cue, on the right hand side, and the only CPS cue for sale on that site.

That is the only CPS cue that I have been able to find marketed for sale anywhere.
So, I do not know what CPS stands for, but these look to be good quality cues, so it is believable that they were made by the Adam / Helmstetter cue company, in Japan.
If anyone knows any info about these cues, then I would be grateful for any additional info about them.
I can only assume that they were made in very limited quantities, and whoever had them made, put such a high retail price on them, that they were unable to sell them. So, no more of them were ordered under that brand name. That is just a guess.

This is the CPS cue that I can acquire. It kinda looks like a Schon that one of our league players has.

Are those inlays or overlays?
Nice looking cue with classic looks.

You beat me to it, but I was thinking:
Chinese
Produced
Shit.
Just kidding, though.
But if it is an ADAM from Japan, I'm sure it is good quality.

Never seen ADAM cue with decals. Even the Chinese built ones have all been inlaid. ADAM started building most of their stuff at Taican/Universal around '95-'96-ish. They still make the hi-end Musashi line in Japan. They are expensive but super nice.I believe that most Adam cues were made in Japan, at least up until the mid 90's.
They did have a few low end lines, that were probably in the $100 retail price range, I am guessing, that were probably from China. Those very low end cues had overlays, and poor quality shafts on them, in my experience with shooting with them on a few occasions.
