I have not heard anything about him since last March when he was at Valley Forge. Any recent news on him? Besides having one of the neatest looking cues ever, I like his game.
Any news on him?

the russian........ what a player.i havent heard anything on him for some time either.i like the way he goes about his buisness at the table and i hear his one pocket game could be the best kept secret in pool or was at onetime.

He is a great player. The first time I saw him play he was at DCC. He was playing Archer and stayed out of line the whole game. He kept coming with one incredible shot after another. He would hook himself and make an awesome kick THAT he played to keep going. JA was just floored!! He turned to the audience each time ES would make a shot because like the crowd he couldn't believe some of the shots this guy was making.

I watched him lose to T-rex in one pocket in L'ville just this past year. While recieving some pretty good weight and was offered more and he declined.:) :eek:

I thought I saw his name in the 14.1 competition in New York. Or maybe I was hallucinating.
 
He breaks REAL hard and likes to gamble, I wouldn't be surprised to see him at the upcoming US Open.
 
Sweet Stroke

He has one of the sweetest strokes in pool in my opinion. I saw him last year at the Expo. After having seen him play I have bought 2 Accu-Stat dvd's of his matches. If there were a pool stroke I could emulate his would be it.
 
I saw him at Castle Billiards in NJ couple months back. He was playing in the Blaze 9 ball tour and got either first or second. He plays very effortlessly as if he is the exception to the rules of keeping your head down and stroking the cue ball. He basically one strokes everything- kicking, safeties, and long shots. Very impressive.

He isn't interested in pool unless he is betting $500+/ game. And that is 9b. Get him down @ 5figures and you will see a different player...
 
The first I heard of ES was back at the US Open in something like the late 90's. In 2001, he was said to have made the largest scores on the US Open practice tables. He has a crazy break style...even more crazy than Buste! Textbook be damned, it works rreeaall good.

Over the years I've kept my eye on him and what "KY Boy" says is very true. ES regularly gets out of line and just fires something in to get back in control. He's a little loose with whitey (compared to other top players) but seems to recover very well.

Here's a video from BCn (which I found AFTER buying it from Accu-Stats) of ES versus Kiamco at the 2005 US Open. ES doesn't play his best here, but you get a good look at his breaking style.

I wonder what kind of cue that is???
 
I am sure he is more focused and deliberate for higher stakes. But it's impressive to watch him win a tournament non-chalantly against some great players. I think it was Gabica in the finals and Kiamaco in third....
