So, The wife and I rolled down to the Expo today at about 1:30. We bumped into a bunch of old friends, and said hi to many of the Pros there like SVB, Larry Nevel, Rodney Morris, Ralph Soquet, Corey Deuel, Gabe Owen......then a couple of beers and lunch.
We bumped into our very own Mike H and Jerry Forsyth from AZB and I introduced myself with my homemade "Hi, I'm Gerry" AZB tag which got a laugh. They both are real nice guys.
I stopped at the J&J booth and picked up a spare shaft which the owner GAVE to me for $20
I was like, thanks man!....he liked that I was a return customer and gave me a good deal. What cool people they were!
We sat on the rail for a couple of our friends matches....they won
then we walked the isles to check out all the stuff. Of course all the excellent cue makers were there. I was most impressed with the Downey display because every time I walked by another Pro was there like Corey, then Gabe, then Nevel.....hmmmm I gotta try one of his cues! He was a super nice guy to talk with.
I noticed 3 booths that had It's George cases....from 250 up to 375. I saw the many t-shirt vendors, but was bummed not to see TAR?....I didn't buy any shirts......yet. I picked up 2 leather burnishers for my shafts from an artist doing leatherwork....very telented guy!
Then it was over to the pit where I watched Adam a friend owning the 10 challenge table for about an hour and a half!....he said it was 32 wins 1 loss!....the kid can play a little.....especially after a few Red Bulls!
We stopped and spoke with John Bender who I havn't seen since last year, I heard he's making his own cues now, and I need to get on the list!
All in all a fun short first day....I had to get home to pick up my work truck from the dealer, it was getting serviced.....thats it for now...
