I love Jim White's cues, but I have to learn to stay focused on what cues I want to buy/keep (directly from the cue builder).
For sale is this JMW amboyna into BEM, 4 point, 4 veneer cue, with ivory Hoppe ring. Specs on the butt are:
15.85 oz., 29" (not counting the bumper)
5/16-14 piloted SS joint, .840" at the joint
Not positive the wrap is lizard, but I believe it is
I bought this butt locally from a very reputable seller who thought he'd lost it to a shipper 3 years ago. He got it back unexpectedly and we worked out a deal. After it was lost, he sold the shafts, so we have the "naked butt" for sale. It is in good shape, with one little scuff on the buttcap that is very hard to find.
I am including 2 Roger Petit shafts with the butt. Here is the description from for sale thread on them.
These two shafts were built with maple dash ringwork to match a Gus Szamboti cue - 5/16-14 inserts. Both have a slight wobble when rolled that doesn't affect play. They have non-ivory ferrules and unknown tips. Both have a couple of very minor playing dings and could use a cleanup; ferrules are not quite flush, etc. As you can see from the specs below, both shafts are beefy enough that they could be worked by a good cuesmith and still be ideal playing size.
Specs are:
Darker shaft:
- Length - 29"
- Weight - 4.35 oz.
- 13.05 mm at the middle of the ferrule
- .850" at the joint
- .490" pilot diameter
Lighter shaft:
- Length - 29"
- Weight - 4.30 oz.
- 13.25 mm at the middle of the ferrule
- .850" at the joint
- .490" pilot diameter
I tried both shafts on the butt and they play great. As you can see from the specs, the shaft diameters are .010" bigger than the SS joint. Also, obviously, the rings don't match. You are getting two great playing shafts included with the butt.
I'm asking $OLD for the butt and two shafts shipped to the continental U.S.. Not interested in trades, though.
I can send more pictures or specs if you are interested in anything specific. As always, money back guarantee if you are not happy and the cue is in the same shape as sent. Thanks for looking.
