These shafts are from 1989 and have the ebony/maple stitch ring. They are however on the thin side at 12.36 and 12.25. They would match almost perfectly for an old R-series shon, some szambotis and of course Motteys. One shaft is 3.4 oz the other is 3.7 oz and one has the slightest of rolls. Both have ivory ferrules and are 5/16-14 thread.

$225.00 for the pair...

Joe

No, He didn't do it. I sold these shafts to my buddy. He ran in to a money problem and gave me these shafts back to sell for him. I asked him to find out the sizes because he has calipers. I was told a size and when they were sent to Joe he had them checked and they were not the same size as I was told. Nice situation.

shafts

Hello Joe, sorry about your bad luck with the shafts. I have a set that I am going to sell when I get my cue back from paul in a week and a half. I am having the cue refinished and I had some new shafts made for it to use as my playing cue. I like a longer length so all my new shafts are 30" I was considering keeping the original shafts in case I sell the cue but I could use the money. they have the szamboti stich rings with maple ebony and lt blue as the colors. both have moori medium tips and the ferrules are highly figured ivory. they have been measured when I sent it out at 12.9 and 13.08. I bought the cue and almost immediately sent it out to be refinished. I really liked how the shafts played. I will post a couple pics of how they looked before I sent the cue out. the pics were taken before one of the tips was replaced. I am sure the shafts will look like new when I get the cue back. The cue was made in 97. Let me know if you are interested
John

Well you know how scales don't work the same in Colorado. Calipers don't work the same in the south.

I repeat, My buddy told me the sizes. I did not check them myself and this kind of problem will not happen again.

Being the cue expert, I'm sure classiccues can somehow transform the shafts to a greater size. Afterall, he is under the impression that cuemakers will leave the shafts nice a raw for the customer to sand down to their preference. LOL

Go get'em bald one!

I was hoping to send them to the east. Since sending shafts west tends to lessen the mass, maybe the more far east they go they will increase in mass. Thats the way it works in Colorado isn't it? Or wait what was it you told me when I asked you to explain the increase in weight.. you said you pissed on them.. maybe that will work here. :)

So people can get a better understanding of why they can contact me also. These shafts belonged to a friend of mine and he asked for me to post them and see if they would sell because he was in a bind for cash. I asked him to get the shaft sizes as he has access to calipers. He came back and told me 12.7 and 12.8.. I took his word, Listed them for him, And they sold. Joe got them in the mail and had them checked and they were not what my friend told me they were. Joe then contacted me back and asked me what I could do about it. I explained to him that I would contact my idiot friend and let him know the situation. Once I contacted my friend he informed me that he no longer had the money. I then wrote Joe back and let him know he is trying to get the money and that if he just blew me off I would come out of my own pocket $100 to give back and he could also sell the shafts to make up the difference. I have sold atleast 30 items on here that consist of cues, Case, and various other items. Everyone has always been more then happy and I have never had a problem until now. Needless to say this will be the last time I sell something that doesn't belong to me and surely the last time I take someone's word for anything I am selling. Joe, I hope we can work this situation out if the shafts do not sell.

Thanks,
Josh Hillard

Josh,
There isn't a person on this forum that wouldn't agree there is only ONE solution to resolve the problem if the shafts don't sell.

As you can see by the lack of offers the shafts worth is exactly what I told you.

Take the shafts back and buy a pair of digital calipers.

This would be a good idea except if my idiot friend doesn't come up with the cash I can't give $300 out of my own pocket back. I have explained what I would give out of my own pocket. I did not receive a penny of this money. I know this is a crappy situation and if you guys want to rheam me then I guess I will have to take it. All I can really do after this situation if it doesn't get resolved is offer a full return minus shipping on my future posts if items are not exactly as described. If nobody wishes to buy from me after this then I guess I got it big time in the rear from my friend. I repeat though, Everything else I have sold on here was all my stuff and I have never had a problem and everyone was always more then happy.

Thanks,
Josh Hillard

These shafts are worth more then what you have stated to me. After all they are Paul Mottey shafts, They both have Ivory ferrules, and they do play great. In now finding out what the sizes are I feel these are worth ATLEAST $150.
