Fatboy's 8 Point Gus

wow i dont good pics, Alton did a brilliant job here.
First off, I'm back-my hernia popped back in(still sore), no risk to my health.
I have only played pool once this week and was not in the mood to gamble, I felt nostalgic so I took 2 of my perment collection cues to hit balls with to the pool room, this Gus and my retired tad (its a players cue i used for 4 years). No chance I'll ever sell these cues, if both my arms fall off or i end up homeless these cues are coming with me. This isnt a new thing for me, I hit balls with almost all my cues. But since I dnt have a table at home I have not been using my colletion cues, they are locked in a vault i have to go to and get them from during biz hours. Pain in the butt.
I did go and get the 8pt Gus the other day after seeing the pics of them, I was in the mood to play with mine. Its a bit heavy for 860, It would be perfect on nap cloth, Stevens, Mali cloth it would be the perfect cue, thats what it was made for. I played for a coupe hours with it, and took a break and shot 15-20 pics with my phone. I sent Alton all of them, i couldnt tell on my phone which were the best ones so I sent him everything. I had no idea he was going to make such a cool picture.
the cross and skull is my necklace, I wanted some contrast for the maple and I litterly layed my chain over the wrap and didnt position the cross or skull I didnt think it worked for the pic but I took them and sent them in case there was something there. Man I had no idea there was, i think its cool in the pic, something different for a cue pic.
I'm real lucky to have such a great Gus, Its not my favorite playing one, its close tho(the Ray Martin Gus plays better IMO). It is the best looking Gus i have, I like it better than the loaded 8 pointers. I like the long thin points on this cue, I need to get pics of how long and thin they are the last 2-3" before they go into the inlay, they are all the same size when they reach the inlay, they are not skinny on one and wide on another one, or a sharpie making it reach the dot. they are perfect, I think this is a older 8pt. none of the inlays have cracks around the finish and the finish is smoth all over the cue except for one ring you can feel the ring but cant see a crack in the finish, the wrap needs to be burnished, its a bit fuzzy. It was that way when I got it, Someday i'll have Barry solve that. Someone took a wet rag to clean it up-its clean alright but they made it fuzzy with too much water.
In a month i'm going to go pick up my 6pt Gus which is very similar to this one and take pics of it, i'm not into posting pics of my cues. but since the 8pt Gus's popped up I thought one more would be cool. My 6pt is very similar to the 8pt. Barry said they are almost a pair. The 6pt is older and less fancy, but its a 6pt Gus, aint gonna find those too often forsale, only because it matches this cue, i'm going to get pics of it. But not for a while. The 8pt goes back to the Vault in the morning, until then i keep it in a gun safe, i have to take out 2 guns to make room(I need a bigger house in LA) Its a pain in the butt to drive to a stroage place to get a cue but its the smartest place to keep them, in Vegas I had a perfect set up. Soon as I sell the house im in in LA and get a new one then i'm going to build a vault at the house thats impossible to break into, like I had in Vegas.

did anyone other than me read about them being kept at a storage facility....man what a STORAGE WARS that would be......however i know eric will pay his storage fee....but damn how would you like to win that bid.........YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP YUP......lol
As long as I remember to pay the bill, LOL gosh can you imagine forgetting to pay the bill and all the cues would disappear. My worst nightmare, I left my case unzipped at the pool room tonight(I didnt know that) got home and when I opened the door I got a txt at 1230am, HMMMM whos that?-I'm thinking. Its Mike the houseman(great houseman at HOB in Santa Monica) telling me he has my wallet, it fell out of my cue case. Not like I dont lose things constantly anyways. He has it, I never put $$ in it, just one credit card(thats all I have is one) and my drives licence. I usually leave it in the car-because i lose everything. I'm subject to forget to pay any bill, thank goodness Kelly does that for me. Years ago my friends girl friend paid all my bills. I never have in my life. I dont know how to balance a check book, I just do the math in my head and know about how I stand. I just never got into that, even in all the businesses I have owned, I let others handle that stuff. I'm just lame at it.
I'm rambling on;; too long of a day at the pool room, i played so bad I might grind up a cue and put it in a protein shake and drink it, alt least it would do me some good-since I forgot how to play,:angry::angry::angry::angry: Fiber from the wood and Calcium from the ivory. and maybe iron form the joint, is there Fe(Iron) in SS???

i'll email you pics of my player, on Cornerstone.com its on his banner. Well just the butt sleve is on the left side, its been my daily player for 2.5 years. I have about 1900 hours on it, I havent played much the past 8 months I played only 50% of the time. Pretty soon I'll be back at it full time.

thanks, I dont know the history of this cue, I believe its a older 8pt, I have a 6pt thats old forsure and is kinda similar. This cue plays great, I'm going to play with it again soon. Its a pain to go to Hollywood to the film storage joint to get it, but its in a vault like I never seen before. Lazers the whole bit, i imagine there must be some old film there with very expensive content.
When I told them I had cues to store they thought i was crazy, I had my cues at home(there was always someone there) for a week. I went home grabbed a 10X20 case with 5 or 6 butts in it and showed them the cues and explaned that these are not "Like the one at the bar, but it unscrews". they caught on real fast, then it was show and tell-but i'm cool with that, they had no clue about cues. If more people did know about cues, can you imagine what the value of these rare cues would be??? So I always take time and tell the history of what ever cue they are looking at etc.
