Some of you may have followed the Spot Shot thread. The object is to make a spot shot without the cue ball hitting a rail. Well, I videotaped myself making it 5 times in a row in the same pocket (missing the 6th) and JoeyA called me out that my table didn't play true or that I was somehow cheating. I really think it was uncalled for, but whatever, to each their own. I understand being a skeptic, but my first reaction is not ad hominem attacks on others...
Anyway, I took off work early, came home, grabbed the camera and shot the stupid shot in EVERY HOLE, one after the other, with the camera rolling - no pausing, no multiple tries to get it right and splice them all together. This is 4 continuous spot shots in a row, in 4 corners, keeping the cue ball from the rail every time.
So, if JoeyA is right, and my table has some lean somewhere, it would make the shot impossible from some angle. But, as you can see, whether my table leans toward the kitchen, the bathroom, or the front door, the shot went. And went with a lot of room to spare. The only "close call" was the last shot, which was the same pocket I made 5 in a row yesterday. But if you watch the dots, it doesn't hit the rail.
So Fatboy, the proof is in the pudding, er, video. Yesterday I did 5 in a row in one hole. Today, 4 in a row - one in each corner. Dunno what else to say. Just hit it at pocket speed with natural roll. Seems straight forward, eh?
