Favorite South West Wood Combinations???

I just received this yesterday,Gaboon Ebony with Cocobolo points,Ivory ferrules and they were able to keep the weight down to 19oz.

No laminates

noticed there are very few with absolutely no laminates...

most have one or three ...

any pics with no laminate 6 pointer SWs ?

this is my playing cue. Ebony with purple heart points is my best favorite. This cue comes with 16.2 oz butt and both shafts are 4.0 oz.

Here's a classic Franklin/Kersenbrock era cue. This cue has some amazing action history. It was validated as a Kersenbrock and Kersenbrock made a shaft for it in 2004 and then validated as a SW recently. The cue is under going the full treatment at SW. It's also the best playing SW next to the tulipwood SW above that I have ever played with. I must have gone through 30 plus SW to date.

My 20-year-old player, with original used and original unchalked birdseye maple shaft

Not sure I'd call this my favourite Southwest "design" or colour combination (although I sure love Cocobolo and birdseye maple, as well as the classic brown canvas phenolics used here - the tulipwood veneers took some getting used to) - this has been my player for 20 years, we've been through a lot together, and out of quite a number of Southwest cues I've had the pleasure to try, it has always remained my favourite in terms of hit and feel.

What I do find special about the "design" or colour combination is that in the buttsleeve, the birdseye maple and Cocobolo ring are "inverted" compared to what one usually sees in Southwests (= normally, the butt sleeve is made of the same wood as the 6 points, and the butt ring the wood of the forearm the point go into). Not sure this makes it look "better", but it kind of makes mine exceptional, love that!

One of my South West cues

Jerry made the cue below for me back in 1992.

It is Gaboon Ebony with Ivory inlays & floating Birdseye Maple points. The ivory butt cap of the cue has a hand painted desert scene. The cue also has matching custom made joint protectors as shown in the 4th picture.
