Pre-cactus 20+years old gabon ebony point into maple with no veneers.
Bought it 5 years ago in Taiwan. Was in pretty rough shape when I got it. It still had its original finish (got it for a steal). The cue came with 2 shafts. 1 original (too thin) and 1 monster aftermarket shaft (4+ oz) that was made by 39 Studios for Chang Jung Lin (now called Zen cues). It's still 100% straight after all these years. It's only 19ozs light.
While purchasing the cue learned that this was Chang Jung Lin and Wu Yu Lun's player between early ~2004 to ~2007.
I sent the cue back for refinish and had 2 shafts made. I now have 2 matching 314 shafts for this cue. One from another SW with the same frame work that was made early 2000s (my playing shaft). Another one I just received. So total 6 shafts. :embarrassed2:
I can't imagine ever letting this cue go. I expect to hear from Laurie in the next 2 years for the order I placed in 2004.
I'm going to get flamed for this i'm sure, but seeing all these beside each other make SW Cues seem really boring... Play good sure, but boring as can be...
