Monday after SBE we are driving to NC to visit my daughter, I did a search in the forum for Fayatteville and got 0 hits, I guess no-one goes there LOL

We will have a car, and I'd say anything within 45 minute ride will be OK, maybe even an hour if it's worth it. We drive about that far in our own area so heading out a bit to a new place is fine with me.

If I just search for pool there, Mr Google will give me 50 results with 45 being closed and 5 being crappy bar tables.

Who can guide me? I'll be there for a full week with my son, so any place that allows kids in (he's 15) is preferable. Any weekly tournaments, etc... He does get allowed into some bars in the evening to play for league and tournaments, I'm sure you guys would know which places would be OK with him going there if it's not an all ages place.

I'm not sure about Fayetteville . The only places I know of there are bars . I've got some buddies that might know something I don't about Fayettville and I'll check with them . There is a kid friendly place in Whiteville (no smoking or drinking allowed) and they have a couple 9footers but they're not diamonds . Break time in Wilmington is the place but I'm not sure of the distance.

Thanks, any info on if they let kids in, tournaments?

Dont know about tournaments but i know ive seen kids in both of them but i was there for the Q city tour not sure if thats why they let the kids in. Im pretty positive Brass Tap lets kids in not sure on Browns though

Breaktime in Wilmington, NC is an awesome place, tons of Diamond 9 footers and Diamond BBs, bowling and good food. Action if you want it, but lots of older gentlemen who'll love playing you just for kicks...some of them have gotten around, too, pretty good shooters. Kids are very welcome there. It's a little bit of a haul, though, just under 2 hours from Fayetteville. They usually have an 8 ball tournament (BB) race to three on Fridays (used to be Sundays), you'd have to check. Raleigh might be a better trip, but not sure about kids.

Military Town Beware!

I used to end up there a long time back.

Wonderful Place to get scammed and Mugged. If it doesnt look right dont go in but if its action you seek, you will find it, you might find more than you want. Go with a friend and watch what you are doing and what who is asking you to play.

Dont go to the large public rest room with the money in your pocket and keep a friend close by if youre gambling.

Thats my take on the place. Somewhere else is my pick.

I don't mind driving out of town, but that's where we're going, my daughter is married to one of the military town folks LOL

She did not say the place was shady but she may not have gone to the places pool players may have gone to ;)

Since you're in NC, any recommendations of a place within an hour drive from there to go to with a 15 yr old?

Almost 2 hrs may be a bit too much, that's 4 hr round trip although he loves bowling and Diamond tables. I'll keep that in mind though, we are there all week so maybe I'll be in the mood for a drive. Only issue is we'll have one car so if I take it to go there, wife and my 9 yr old daughter don't have it and don't know what she will think about not being able to drive all day somewhere.

get the goplaypool app for you smart phone. on the app you will find about 11 pool rooms listed for fayetteville. i used to play at broadstreet when i lived there 14 years ago.

Little Reno is a great place to go and play in Fayettville N.C. I go there a lot. It has (5) 9 ft Diamonds (2) 9 ft Brunswick's with 1 tripled shim and 1 bar table. There is plenty of room around the tables.Mouse has recently covered most of the tables in there. Telephone number is 910-483-9611 and is operated by a guy named Mouse.

The issue with that is that it lists just about everything with a pool table as a pool room, with no info from players. I've posted a few times for a forum suggestion for AZB to create a member run dirctory where we can have current reviews of the rooms by the locals in each state instead of relying on web searches that come up with rooms that have been closed for 10 years or have 2 tables with rat chewed cloth.

Raleigh or Wilmington. 1 hr in opposite directions. i'd head towards the beach @ Break Time. but it gets rough at night. it's directly off hwy 40 & up the street from UNC Wilmington. it's 70 degrees right now & the sand is calling yáll....

otherwise, i'd play on-base & save the drive. there is NOTHING b/w Fayetteville & ____ . (but i've got 5 hot furniture designers there who run the militarys' orders ;))
