(Feeler) F/S: Chris Nitti w/ Dennis Searing shaft

Hey guys,

Been awhile since I been on. I have a custom built to spec coming in shortly, so I've decided to just stick with my lil' Joss until that time. And once I get that cue, I think I'll be done for quite some time. I've sort of fell out of the cue rotation game, picked up a few other intense hobbies, etc...

Just wanted to post that I'd be taking offers on my 02' Chris Nitti w/ matching Dennis Searing shaft in case anyone was interested. Seeing as it's a hybrid, I'm not really sure of asking price or anything. And I don't particularly have any desire to set one at this time. I know this tends to annoy some people, and I often times am one of them, but I just can't think of another way to get the word out (as inefficient as this may seem to some).

Just send me a fair offer if you're interested. If I like the responses I'm getting, I'll let it go. Otherwise, I'll just keep it. No biggie. And I'd also be open to having any 'experts' out there PM me an idea of fair value, regardless if they're interested in the cue or not.

Thanks,
- Joaquin.

man sweet looking cue. i think you should hold onto it until you have a better idea what a good asking price would be. you might regret lettin it go. other hobbies come and go but it seems like all pool players come back to pool

Lol. I ain't leaving the game or anything! I just got another stick on the way that I don't want this one competing with...

I'm just tired of the whole switchin' game. I wanna get serious with this next cue the same way I did with this one...

Just wondering what it appraises for in the eyes of those whom I respect very much in this market: the AZers. If I'm not liking the numbers, like I said, and as you advised, I will be holding on to it, and it will just sit in a case for the time being. :)
I've actually been pretty good about just focusing on practicing with the Joss and not taking the "Nearing" out of it's case -- so I know I could continue to do that with my new Nitti on the way if I needed to! Lol ;)

He made a mistake and thats ok,we all make them, but dont try to act like it never happen.People have a right to know that he has a black mark on his reputation in dealing here. Anyone got the link to the transaction that didn't go as planned:D

There is no link to the transaction...wanna know why? Because the transaction has nothing to do with an AZ posting (aside from the grievance which you read -- and should never have been posted and was handled). I assure you that there is no issue...

You may contact Richard Smith yourself if you wish. I understood that post was going to create a "black mark" on my reputation, whether it was completely factual or not...that's just how things work when you deal in any kind of forum, whether electronic or not...and knowing this fact is why I was upset when it surfaced and I did not learn of its existence until some time...

I never received money for anything and didn't ship. What happened was a series of different dealing between Richard and myself -- a lot of back and forth with cues, money, builds, etc. I sent a check to him for the $250 he had sent me in an original deal for a Cog + $ for my SW (completely off AZ boards), but when I returned the Cog (because it was not straight and I was not sure that if I had the joints refaced, it would take care of the problem -- I was not willing to find out so I sent it back and with NO grief from Richard. In fact, we outlined that very possibility prior to his shipping the cue!), I sent him back a $400 check with it -- to cover his $250 and a cue he was building for me at $150 -- payment in ADVANCE...

The check did bounce (by one day's difference -- I was a day late with a deposit in my account to cover it). I waited for the check to just try and clear again -- figured thats what it would do -- but I don't know much about bounced checks, seeing as that doesn't happen to me much. Figured Richard would call me if anything was up. We always had very good communication...

What happened later on was that Richard became aware of the bounced check only after his bank sent it back to him. I apologized profusely, he wasn't really upset...solution was to just send him a MO for $250 and I would send the other $150 later on for the cue which I was still awaiting to be completed. The cue has been in the work for some time, long over due -- but have I ever complained about him delaying or taking so long or anything? No. Why? Good communication. Richard's a great guy and he's doin' right by me and the cue, so I'm willing to wait...

What happened was I was out of reach for a little while, and I guess Richard started to panic (beyond me why he did so far into our dealings -- we had spoken already on 10+ different occassions, whether for business or for pleasure. He knows me well enough.) and that's when the post came out. Obviously to get my attention...

I did not deliberately delay the response. Nor did I slander him in response, if you recall. I simply stated that I was sorry about the delay and that I would contact him. I did. And he finished the thread with an apology to those who had read and to myself. The thread was uncooth, to say the least.

Like I said, if you have any questions, you're welcome to ask me anything or contact Richard. I assure you, I am no crook. Anyone who has dealt with me, Richard included, will tell you that I am very fair and honest when it comes to these dealings. Either it goes off without a hitch, or if we are not so lucky, as it has occured in a couple of the SEVERAL dealings I have had on here, I always make it right if the error lies on my side of things. I am, afterall, known as "the man of traveling cues." Surely, there are others who have dealt with me who can attest to the facts I state above...

With that said, I appreciate you trying to look out for our fellow AZers and warning them about my history, as incorrect an account as it may be. Nonetheless, I cannot hold you accountable for your actions -- you are neither Richard or myself, and therefore, do not really have the insight to not speak false in this regard. I suppose, in your shoes, I may have thought the same way. To be honest, I would have probably restrained myself just at the point before posting a message like yours...but I understand where you are coming from. I am sure that the AZB community is greatful.

Speaking for myself, I only know part of the story. Frankly, I would be interested in this cue but I choose to err on the side of caution, so I can't act. I'm not taking sides one way or another, but I was just burned in another deal, and I cannot afford to take a chance...Tom

I understand that, Tom. And I will not attempt to change your mind. This is just an unfortunate effect of Richard's thread. And beyond that, I cannot ask for you to take my word, the word of a stranger on the internet, over anyone else's -- and furthermore, your own opinions.

I do, however, very much appreciate you posting your concern and letting me know how you feel. Gives me some insight into what others may be thinking. And I am very sorry that you were injured in a previous dealing, Tom. I know how that feels.

Lol. You and I both. From the little bit that people have keyed in on the subject, though...sounds more and more like I'll probably just end up holding on to it. Thought maybe the shaft might be worth a tad more on the secondary market, but I dunno...

If someone comes along that would really like to give the cue a run, they'll throw out a number and we'll work on it. Otherwise, I think I'll just keep it in the quiver. ;)
