Basically the jig will help zero the joint ends and top of the handle for facing, boring and pinning/a-joint bolt work.
OD is 1 3/8. It should fit even the 3-jaw Taig aluminum chuck.
No need to bore that chuck every time you need to get to zero runout.
Stainless steel, built to last .
No more struggling with the chuck or steady rest .

Cost will be $175, paypal and CONUS priority fees included.
$75 down and $100 before delivery.

This will be of help is lining up the points of those 4-point sneakies.
No need to shim the chuck, this will let you offset the center hole more precisely.
Cost will be $150 plus Paypal and shipping fees.

Just PM me. PM will be PRIVATE. Nobody is going to know you inquired or ordered.
It'll take 3 weeks to get made .

Post a picture of it on here and you will see them on Ebay within a few weeks. At least that has been my experience. And their ebay description will start with, "Why pay more?"

LOL Poor Chris. It's really too bad things are like that. Gotta be frustrating for you.

Damn!
That is sad, Chris.
I won't post pics then.

Good thing Ebay gouges sellers now.
Machine shop time is some $90 per hour here.
So maybe they can cut throat me but it won't be worth their effort.
Thanks Chris.

2 sold and two pre-orders so far.

It must be good. What I like about Joey is that he thinks outside of the "bun"

Chris is right. Just look at the De Angelo leather wrap fixture. Everyone had a newer and better jig that was from 99% to 99.99% the same. The name Brianna comes to mind. Of course the buyers of the counterfeits weren't blameless.

True.
Good thing Brianna is out of business.

Let's not chit chat on this for now.

Thanks.

Thanks guys.
If you haven't PM'd yet, please no more PM's this time.
I am overwhelmed.

Orders have been made and I don't want to overwhelm my machinist either.
He said he will try to finish this batch in two weeks, but no guarantees.

Joey I work with outside machine shops EVERY day. If you decide you want a competitive price on your custom components, I can send you contacts of a few mid west companies that do top notch machining. I use three different shops. It just depends on what I need on which one I go to. No favorites just good business and good people.

I hardly think not posting pics will help it not being copied. I'm pretty sure the person would buy one, then take it to a machinist, and say i need so many of these:thumbup:

You would think so, but you would be surprised how cheap some people can be. A free blue print (aka Picture) is just as good as a $150 hard part and is free.

It would have to take me less than 45 minutes to fabricate - lights on to lights off - or I'd be losing money. The only tools I make are the ones I can't buy already made.

When you get ready for a second round let me know Joey as I can't get the TIR out of my lathe.

Thanks,

I don’t want to hijack this thread. But It appears he has more orders than Joey can handle.
If you’re looking to profit from this venture. Wouldn’t a PATENT be your assurance to protect your idea? You got my attention thru your post. If your not looking to profit why not post pictures and be done with it?

Joey,

Sounds like a nice Gizmo for chucks that are not true. I am sure you will have lots of takers. You might want to include some premium mating collets in various sizes that people would need to match the unit. Of corse that would be more money for the collet set.

Good luck,

Rick

chuck

I'm not wanting to start a war on here as I see it's easily done and don't knock anyone else's ideas and probably shouldn't even post this but someone asked......And I am not saying it is the ultimate answer, but it will give you the best of both worlds as far as a small lathe chuck...So here goes.....
Actually on my small 4 jaw taig lathe 1-3/8" headstock I got from Todd a long while back, I got 4 steel jaw replacements and had the mounting holes made into slots by a few thousands both directions on a cnc machine so they were exact and you can slip the jaws in either direction and it works perfect..

I put external star lock washers on the bolts and they don't slip....set it up once and it works like it did originaly...If you need to adjust it just put in your round and adjust with a dial indicator.....I did my steady rest the same way, never had a problem yet....

I am really surprised the guys that sell this stuff have not already figured it out and started selling them already..Like somebody already said, you will see them all over ebay in a month, and probably on here but that's the way it is....

I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer here but it was a no brainer for me and my application....

I guess I must apoligize to the AZB people that read this post and might have a different opininon of something..Well evidently it sounds like I have already sank a ship before it sailed..I ask a simple question, got a question, replied, and blew it I guess...I had no idea I was throwing a monkey wrench in something..I being the type that will not sit and sling on the PC all day will just not post or reply to anything else I see or am asked about...It was a nice vacation from eBay while it lasted.....To the few I purchased items from here it was a really nice experience, to those I have upset, sorry about that....Goodbye.....

That was my point you had to build something or make some type of jig.
I like your ideal too.
