I'm thinking about buying a Runde cue that that 2 shafts with ivory ferrules. I would like to have those removed and westinghouse micarta ferrules put on. Any idea of the cost including labor for this change?

Thanks for your help.

I'd guess between 200 and 250

That may be in the ballpark but if the true, old yellow micarta is used, and then what type of tip, it could easily run to 300.00. I've heard of as high as 150.00 just for the ferrule installation, plus the tip.

Hi,

Probably depends on whether it's the Westinghouse micarta with asbestos? regular Westinghouse Micarta plays the same IMO and cost about 25.00 for just the ferrule. The rest will be labor for the ferrule installation. I would suggest leaving one shaft with ivory alone first...as hit is subjective and you might end up not liking the new ferrule. Also, it may be easy to resell the cue later on as I much prefer to have the ivory vs the Micarta...both are great ferrule.

Duc.
