I was wondering if someone with experience can create a list of ferrule materials ranking from hard (non-porous) to soft (porous).
I like the way that Ivory ferrules remain so clean and am looking for materials to try and ones to stay away from. I remember having a ferrule on a cue that was very porous and would always collect chalk dust and was very hard to keep clean.
Additionally if a hardness raking similar to those numeric rankings I have seen made with cue tips would be added, all the more beneficial.
example
1. Ivory = very non-porous - hard hit
2.
3.
4.
5.
10.
