Ferrule on a Players

What type of Ferrule do the Players cues come with from the factory? I have a guy that wants his replaced and wants to make sure it is exactly like the original. It looks like a soft plastic type and the website seems to say some type of high-impact ferrule. It does look whiter than the Muecci ferrules. He is very picky about making sure it is the same.
Any ideas?

Just tell him to send it back to China. I'm sure they will have the correct one. If the original is so hot, why is he wanting to replace it?

He is 'picky', yet he purchased a Players. That is too funny. That's like a self-proclaimed car enthusiast who drives a Yugo.

Larry,
I'm not going to add to the humor here, you want an answer you can go home with.
To tell you the truth, I don't know what it is but I believe it's either the same as Lucasi's or close to it.
And while I'm being honest I'll also tell you that a new replacement Players shaft may not be too much
more money than an exact ferrule replacement.

if it's the same as Lucasi (which would be logical, since they are both owned by the same parent company), then it's XTC which you can get from Atlas

players cues going back for warranty

Players cues
about 5 or 6 years ago i sold a new players cue .
30 days later the customer brings the cue back the shaft was warping.
about 6 inches from the tip and its not a little roll shaft warped abought 45 degrees looked like a broken finger.
i called the factory up. they said send it in they would warranty it .
i sent it in called them 4 or 5 times never got the cue back. they said no warranty and then they misplaced the cue.
and i had to refund the customer.

Thanks for that!

KJ - you are correct that a players shaft may be the best thing for him. He is a very 'particular' guy about his cues. At least it is one of the higher end players ;-)

Appreciate it, guys!

Edit - I just checked and Atlas is out of stock. Does anyone have 6 or 12 inches that I could purchase from you?
P.S. I am still going to tell him to just order another shaft ;-)

I have a lucasi cue and was wondering about the ferrule material.
If you look at different web sites some will say XTC and some Ivorine 3.
Did they change the material and some of these sites are out of date?

they just haven't updated the web pages. they used to use ivorine-3, but that material was discontinued awhile ago and they switched to xtc. you can tell which one you have if you look closely at the ferrule material. ivorine-3 has a fine linen weave and is also a soft white/ivory in color. xtc has no weave and is a bright white.

thanks. I will check it out tonight.

I looked at my Lucasi ferrule with a magnifying glass and I see no weave and it's very white.
Must be XTC. I have had the cue almost 3 years.
