Ferrule replacement...need input.

What cue do you have?
Where are you?
Replacing ferrules is not rocket science.
A skilled maker and repair person can do the work.
Even keep the ferrule tenon you have now.
 
Can you post pictures of the tip/ferrule ends of the shafts. As stated above, ferrule replacement is not rocket science, but if they are buggered up too badly, it might take a little more TLC.
I'm in Denver and could help you out, but surely somebody here knows of a reputable cue tech/builder in your area.
Anyway, the pictures will let us see if there are any special problems.

Josh Treadway is in St. Louis and near Cue & Cushion and I would recommend him. I'm on the Illinois side about 30 from downtown St. Louis and could do it if you schedule a time first.

That's not being picky - geez. In spite of being "reputable" sanding a ferrule down to match a tip is a hack job. Sorry it happened to you.
I have heard of Treadway before and Travis is a regular contributor here, so I'm sure either one can do a good job for you.

Jesse, hope everything with the Horn is ok, and that you have just decided to get a new ferrule.

Regardless of the reason, there are many more than competent guys in the area that I would recommend.

Josh Treadway (easily found at cue and cushion most of the time)
Jim Buss (Treadway's mentor, and only lives a couple of blocks from Cue and Cushion)
Travis Niklich (I have spoken to Travis a couple of times, and from what I can see... his work is as good as it gets)
QB Cues (a little further away from the city, but super nice guy, and does great work... Scott Frost plays with one)
Jerry Terbrock isn't too far away
Mike Durbin is in town a lot, and his shop is only a couple of hours away
 
Tips and ferrules ,,,, as well as shafts are wear objects...... a lot like the brake pads on your car....

At some point in time and use, they all need to be replaced............

Just replace them and you will feel better

Most repair guys and cue makers replace hundreds of them..................
