Long story short, the guy coned my ferrules in at the tip. I've played with this cue for many years, always asked whoever replaces my tips not to touch the sides of my ferrules with sandpaper, and it was never an issue. I double check my ferrules after every tip change with a straight edge to be sure. Anyway, I didn't need a straight edge. It was that obvious. I played with the cue for a few days anyway before putting it away. The tips he put on were bad and I wasn't about to let him touch the cue again. Couple of years later I had a different guy put new tips on and it just got worse. Haven't played with it for about 3 years total, give or take a little.
Some might think the straight edge after a tip change is a little extreme, but I'm picky. Aside from that it was never an issue before.
I'm looking into Treadway at the moment. I started a thread in the main forum asking for feedback on him and I've already sent him an email.
Thanks everyone!
