I, more than anyone, hope there is a 2008 WPC in the PI again. I'll rack balls if it will help! :D
You got yourself a job!:) We are having it here and the entrance to the venue will be free! We've got a Presscon and contract signing coming up!

Edwin >>>loves to see Jay here again!

Thanks for this detailed response to my inquiry. I learned a few things here I was not previously aware of. I actually see light at the end of this tunnel. I think that things may get sorted out eventually when all involved see their respective roles in the filipino pool scene. There is enough room in the Asian pool market for many promoters of different events to be productive.

There is an old saying that is apropos here. When one door closes another one opens.

You are so right Jay! I hope you bring more American Players to the Paradise where Pool and Poolplayers are respected and looked-up to. This, participation and triumphs of US Players here and successes of adventurous US promoters, may even be the boost that the USA needs in kickstarting the US Pool Scene.

I'd really love to see this happen then maybe we can make a sequel to COM with the script centered on what such an (US)invasion reached. Then maybe that'll catch the attention of the US General Popultion, Pool Community and outside-of-industry sponsors!

Hey that's it. It's time for the American pool players to return the favor and invade the Philippines. What goes around, comes around! Let's get 'em guys! I really think that our top young talent CAN match up with the best players over there. They just need to have the desire and the motivation to go and spend some time there.

A couple of key points. There are more tournaments, it is easier to travel around in Asia and far less expensive, and the cost of living there is much lower than here. HELLO!! Oh, and you will get action if you are so inclined.

My neck is still acheing for keeping the rack hanging on it! LOL!!

I won't comment on the "politics", since it has no place in pool IMHO.

I do have a comment on 2 things:

1. My understanding of "sharking" requires your opponent to be at the table, the table was Alex's and he was just being his usual charismatic, enthusiastic self, something pool needs MORE of.

2. Alex may be the ONLY player I really, really, really love watchin'...why?, see #1.

Any organization that bans Alex is banning me, and I doubt I'm alone in feeling this way.

Alex was sharking the audience, and that's a no-no in that part of the world! :D

This thing is not really helping Philippine pool.. hope they patch things up. No more politicking pls..
Politicking? Can't you read? This is about fighting injustices, dictatorship, etc. If you don't mind your tax money being used and acquired from the national treasury the way they did, STFU! Read what's in those Senate Documents before you post. This is not anymore the time to be pacifists specially with such damning evidence presented. It's time to grow balls and make a stand.

I don't mind the taiwanese or any other country winning the WPC. such boycott would create a lot of attention to pool and it's struggle or endangerment of being sucked into the world of politics. politicians had already done enough damage to Philippine Sports (neglect, biases and questionable fundings which lead to nowhere or don't know where the money went), now they want to include pool on their list of potential milking ground. didn't they get enough millions already? a lot of athletes complain about poor equiptment and training facilities inspite of millions of funding given yearly. I guess that's the wisdom of a crocodile.

I am curious, Bandido, can you find out who or what company typed up the Senate record of the hearing? Inquiring minds gotta know!

JAM
It's in-House JAM. I know it's below standard in your field.
