Final from scott/dennis

Hey Dick,

How long do you think it might be till "Billy the Kid" jumps in to play one of these guys?

Lyn

I dunno, mr. You know how these players are- ready to play yesterday.

I think thorpe would play right now for 4 fig.

Yes, he might play, however I don't think he's quite ready for Alex or Dennis yet!...But I've been wrong before..In fact I lost a few $$$ betting on Scott, against DO!

PS..Thankfully, I usually played a little better than I handicapped! ;)

I heard Justin Bergman beat Billy gambling in 1p recently. Maybe someone can chime in.

I'd too like to see Billy vs a big name 1p player.

Dennis has beat Danny Smith and T-rex gambling in 1p.

I'd like to see Alex or Berg try him next. At the moment, Dennis is the king, but I don't imagine any backers are going to bet against Dennis anytime soon.

Dick,

In your esteemed opinion, who do you feel are the top ten one hole players today. Not trying to incite a war of words. Just your opinion. I'm not qualified to judge but have a love for the game as my age advances. Pretty sure an argument will ensue but as I said, I respect your opinion on the subject.

Also, who would you like to see challenge Dennis next?

Lyn

I have never played 1 pocket and really haven't watched at all.
I watched a lot of this match, and not knowng all the moves. I thought just DO played lights outs, he might have made some mistakes but for the most part SF
didn't take advantage. DO made some oustanding banks.

Justin Hall beat Danny Smith 10 ahead in less than 2 full days.

I'd love to see Hall or Billy in big action. Justin has frequently said he'll play anyone in his homeroom for 10k. Think he had to go out of his way to see Danny though.

Bergman spotted him an beat him... Wasn't close eitther

My opinion is that either Alex or Justin Hall would be the best match for Dennis now. T-Rex is questionable based on his lack of action of late, semi retired so to speak. Waiting for backers is more like it.

Believe it or not Shane would be a good test for Dennis. Don't underestimate him by any means. He is also a great player who is fearless under pressure and the money will not affect him. They have a natural rivalry which only adds to the drama.

I picked Dennis over Scott for one simple reason. I think he's a better pool player with a more sound game. Scott is a great One Pocket player, but he can't execute like Dennis. That's my bottom line. On the other hand, Shane can!

Shane refuse to play Scott unless hes getting weight. Personally I favor Shane over Scott in 1p. It would be very close.

I think the Justin Hall match with Dennis will happen.

adam,i like dennis

you have action if they play

i hope all is well with you
its been a long time

i know JB is perceived as a dog @ 12 to 6, however, it's just a matter of time until he plays like he practices

wife loves the knives, THANKS!!!

take care, a

Let me preface this by saying I don't play much one pocket.

In watching Dennis vs Scott, I felt Dennis found effective shots in which he kicked at the side of the pack more often than Scott. I found his cue ball control on these shots to be truly amazing. I did not find this surprising, as the precision kicking of the top Filipinos is one of their trademarks.

Is my observation accurate?

Personally, i think John Barton would give Dennis a run for his money.

he smokes at any distance up to a 100 yards

on topic: to beat DO the opponent must put enough heat on him to put a hitch in his giddy-up...SF didn't.

imo the only two that might are AP and, to a lesser degree, SVB

our young guys aren't ready, YET

You saw a brief moment where those long banks were not going it looked like SF might at least make a game of it and he sells out again ,, DO shot the last 2 days with no fear what's so ever,, I'm more than sure Alex can keep the heat on , and if SVB gets perked like DO did for this match and put in the time playing 1 pocket getting ready for the match he will certainly be a force to be recon with
The youngsters are a little ways off this is a big boys game thier not thier yet

I didn't watch the entire match, but I did watch quite a bit. One of the things that really stood out to me, is when Scott tried to lock Dennis down and move balls to his hole, if he left any kind of shot, Dennis was taking it. He turned down very little, and by that I mean, even hard shots, he took them on instead of trying to navigate some very hard or tricky safe. He was aggressive, always trying to keep the heat on Scott.

Scott's cue ball control was not as good as Dennis, which also cut short some of his runs where he probably should have gotten out, and in other instances, left Dennis a shot at his pocket which allowed him to get back in the game, or get out.

I know one thing, Dennis missed very few balls he was supposed to make, and his shot making was absolutely superb. Scott did miss some balls he wasn't supposed to, and when you are playing someone like Dennis, that ain't good.:)

Some would be a understatement , he missed countless shots that the only reasonable explanation for missing them was he felt the pressure , DO prepared for this match giving up rediculas spots I watched a few of those in person it was posted here several times ,
I don't recall ever seeing SF doing the same I'm pretty sure with social media being the way it is we would have heard if he was ,

DO is a top notch elite professional player when he got to the table he had done everything with in his power to be ready come game time,
It's pretty clear to me Scott was not mentally or physically prepared for a match of this magnitude and I'm sure he'd admit that , sometimes it takes a punch in the mouth to realize the difference in a constiment pro and a part time pro
I'm sure Scott knows this also , I'm also sure he knows he lost on his B game if he lost on his A game he might just pack it in , I'm thinking he won't based on that but we will see

Scott handed out those 14-4s and 12-5s too, don't worry about that. But there is a big difference between giving out a big spot to someone who's a chump like I, vs getting in the ring with robocop.
