I wanted to take a moment to recognize Nancy (hllwnmagic) that makes the Cue-Z finger slides.

If I only wanted to give my opinion of her product, I would have posted this to the review section. I also wanted to return the favor by "going above & beyond" by giving her credit she did not ask for but deserves.

For glove wearers, or people like myself that have a real problem with sweaty hands... Some of you understand what I mean, and for those that don't... you never will, and be grateful you won't. My hands sweat rediculously, playing without a glove of some sort is almost impossible. Not that I can't but the amount of times I need to do maintainance on my hands using powder and my shaft cleaning it with towels, etc... is past an inconveinience. Not to mention the inconsistancy of friction between these routine maintanance sessions... Sucks. So anyway, gloves are a must for my mental well being. lol.

I usually run though a glove every month or two, and regardless of the brand, it falls to pieces eventually (usually in the palm & finger tip areas). Long & short of it... These things rule. Love them. If you play with gloves, try them. I'm sold.

What I really wanted to bring attention to was Nancy going well beyond any expection with her customer service. Not only did she custom make these things to my specific request (which was outside the standard design) because of a misunderstanding (probably mine) the slides were already mailed before I clarified another small adjustment I was requesting.

After trying the slides, (and liking them) I made a simple suggestion (to ad elastic between the fingers) and said maybe that would be a good idea to try in the future... She not only handmade another set of slides for me with my small correction, she also made a "prototype" set that had the suggestion and mailed me BOTH sets for FREE!!! I didn't see that coming, and certainly didn't expect it. She actually said she felt bad that the original set wasn't exactly what I wanted! so she sent 2 more sets at no cost and with ZERO expection of recognition!.

In this day & age, and with things as tight as they are for everyone around the country this kind of service deserves to be applauded.

Sadly, I too suffer from the ailment you describe above. I always refused to wear the glove. Subsequently, the table I played on always ended up with a layer of white powder all over it from the copious amounts of chalk that I applied. So, I stumbled across the finger slides on this site and snapped up a couple pair right away. They work great and are quite comfortable. I give props to the inventor. Also, I like the elastic idea. Cheers...:smile:

I just got one at the sbe and I love it. It's perfect. I would doubt I will have to buy another one until next year. There are made very well and cover exactly what you need them to cover. I was tired of buying a new glove every other month.

The elastic is a great Idea! The only thing I dislike about mine is the one that goes on middle finger slides up and down a bit and the elastic would keep it in place. Please let me know when these are available for purchase and I will gladly send you the money!

Are you asking me or the person who just responded?

I'm in Tampa, FL. I was the person that asked you to extend the fingers and mentioned a piece of elastic connecting the index finger & thumb rather than the cloth connector.

Kinda cool part is that she has you measure your fingers so they are custom fitted for you.

Also loved that any suggestions you want to make, she takes into consideration. I wanted the fingers made longer to cover all the way to the tips on the index & thumb.

They are a little thicker than gloves, so it took me a few hours of shooting to get adjusted to the thicker material but now that I'm used to it, I prefer it. Matter of fact, I think this thickness will help with durability which was a big issue with the gloves. I ran through them pretty fast that spandex stuff doesnt hold up well to sweat & friction.

Next one's I order will be in Black too. I got the others in Tan thinking it would mask the fact that I had anything on since it's close to flesh colored. When you play on dirty tables the tan gets dirty too... and with as much as I play, almost exclusively on filthy tables they get a bit dingy.

I posted a review in the review section about 4 months ago.The moderator took it down.I couldn't understand why and contacted Mr.Wilson.I was so mad I gave the mod red rep.I asked how you describe a glove except to say it helped and you can get them from Nancy.While writing this I'm starting to get mad again.To this day i still don't get it.:mad:

I just wanted to take a few moments and bump this thread with my thoughts on the Finger Slides.

I ordered mine last week and they just showed up today. As Dawg says above in the thread, these things are made of a much thicker material than a typical pool glove. I've never been a glove fan because I prefer to feel the table and my fingers while bridging. When I first saw this product, I thought it was interesting -- but I never really pulled the trigger on it.

After a HOT day last week that brought a TON of humidity into the pool room, I was thinking to myself, "G'damn... I wish I would have purchased one of them." So I get online and read the section on how to measure (I took a piece of string and wrapped it around my finger, cut it and measured it). Yup, large it is. Click... ordered.

The first thing I noticed was a hand-signed letter from Nancy thanking me for purchasing her product -- with an email address in case I had any questions. Classy --- I like that.

I played with this thing for a few hours straight tonight and I REALLY like it. I have long thin fingers so I usually find myself "squishing" my bridge into the table in order to get a rock solid "lock" on the cue. I found that the thicker material gave me the same effect without being so hard on my joints.

I like how there's no material on my palm or finger tips. It's important to me that I can feel my index finger sit on top of my middle finger. This thing gives the zero-friction feel of a glove and solidifies your bridge -- while feeling like you're not wearing anything at all.

I'm super happy I tried this thing out. I'm NOT a glove fan (I always thought they were restrictive and never felt natural); however, I'm a big finger-slide fan. If you're like me and have sweaty hands, hate gloves and are always sanding your shafts, using powder and washing your hands---- give one of these things a test drive.
 
When I decided to start selling FingerSlides, my goal was to help Pool Players Improve their game with a sort of "Sandal" for the bridge-hand. Everytime I read how my product has helped someone it makes my day!!
I can remember being laughed at for wearing a glove. Even the FingerSlides got me a strange look. But, once I beat them at pool...The comments and looks stop. ...And the questions started, "Where did you buy those?"

FingerSlides are made to order...Therefore they are all Custom made!

Nobody gives mine a second glance....

Unfortunally when worn on my rleft hand, the logo is upside down. I think I may have gotten a righthanded glove....It fits on my hand and it helps my game so the logo issue is a mute point.

A real classy review -- thanks for posting this! I'd been meaning myself to write a review of the FingerSlides that Nancy customized for me, but something always got in the way. I do plug her product every chance I can get, though, as evidenced in the "Open or Closed?" bridge thread, but I always felt her product deserved an in-depth review, that I never got around to.

Your review nails it, though. One thing that I wanted to point out, for those that may go to the FingerSlides website, is that the pictures you see, do *NOT* show the extent of the customizations that Nancy can do for you. For example, the pictures show that all the fingertips are exposed. However, Nancy can fully customize these such that only certain fingertips are exposed, with the rest fully enclosed/covered. My customized set is a good example:

  • Index finger is fully enclosed/covered (the middle finger tip and thumb tip are exposed)
  • A separate band of material that goes around my bridge hand's first knuckles ("punching" knuckles). This is for when I use an open bridge -- the base FingerSlides product doesn't adequately cover the index finger's first knuckle enough for an open bridge.
After I referred him to Nancy, a 14.1 league colleague and friend, John M., got his set customized such that both the thumb and index finger are fully enclosed.

Unfortunately, I don't get to use my FingerSlides as often as I *should*. I say this, because, well, I'm lazy. Too lazy to go into the pouch of my cue case, get them out of the zip-lock back, and put them on. Force of habit shows that I'm quicker to go to my CueShark and use its talc dispenser to dispense a dab of corn starch (I prefer corn starch over talc -- less messy and lasts longer [has a longer-lasting effect] than talc) than I am to put the FingerSlides on. And to be honest? There's no difference in effort between precision-smoothing a dab of corn starch at points on my hand, or putting the FingerSlides on. I'm just a dufus.

However, on those days when even corn starch isn't working, or when the pool room's AC is on the fritz, I'll dig out my FingerSlides and kick myself for not using them more often. And get this -- they look cool, too. They sort of look like fighting/grappling wraps, like you'd see UMA fighters wear. It never fails -- everytime I put these on and play, someone comes up to me and asks, "Dude, what are those? I'd never seen 'em before. Can I buy those somewhere?" And of course, I refer that person to Nancy. Show me a pool glove that looks anywhere near as cool (or is as well-designed) as FingerSlides. I don't think you will be able to.

Anyway, thanks for this review, Dave. It definitely hits the nail on the head.

Just received my Finger Slides yesterday in the mail and played a couple hours last night. Very comfortable fit. The material seems to be thicker / sturdier than that used in other gloves I have used. I normally wear out the "palm" area of the glove, even those that have a (fake?) leather pad in that area. Satisfied so far.... Will post an update once I've used it awhile.
