Is the guy/girl that says/thinks you just got lucky because all you had to make were "easy shots".

The only banger I know is when I was locked up in San Quentin.His name was Big Bubba cell mate#14369, To this day I still have to sit down sideways.
 
I would define a banger as that player who lets the cue ball go every shot. Then as the ball slows they are eyeing up ther next shot. Never a set plan. I agree with changing the layout every shot.

My wife, who never plays, said a banger is someone who bangs balls and rarely makes them.

I don't think we can add to that definition.

From my online glossary:

banger: derogatory term for a novice player who hits the balls harder than necessary and doesn?t try to play for position.

A banger is someone who thinks that you get draw the ball further by jacking up the butt end of the cue and hitting harder than they usally do. And they hit the balls harder than anyone in the room in case it goes in after hitting 3 rails and he can say "man I planned that shot!!".
 
A banger is someone who doesn't understand why you would buy a custom cue for so much money when you could get a cue at Walmart.

Ironically that is exactly the definition I was looking for. But the rest are all fun to read.

Players as they call themselves seem to like to pick on "BANGERS" as they call them. To me everyone playing Pool should be glad there are "BANGERS" .

As I am sure to the Players the "BANGERS" , and Recreational players make up the majority of the Pool Playing Population.

With out the "BANGERS" , or Recreational Players I wonder how many Pool Rooms there would be? I wonder how mach it would COST to Play Pool in you local Pool Room? I wonder how many Cue Makers there would be? I wonder how many Case Makers there would be? I wonder how many Pool Tournaments with added money there would be? I wonder how the cost of a Box of Chalk, Cue, Case , etc. would be effected with out those "BANGERS" ?
