Hey,

my father in-law builds guitars, and he saw my cue the other day. And he was wondering what type of finish is used on cues.

My cue has a finish that looks like glass, does anyone have good suggestions.

he has just began work on his latest design and would like to have that high shine to it.

Thanks
Steve

If he was admiring your McDaniel, it is a UV finish. Same finish we use on CA$H cues. Doesn't get any better , in my opinion.

You can use PPG 2021 clear. Or another I like is PPG DC 3000 The 2nd one dries quickly! There is another clear called Snap Dry that also looks good when finished!

Some use uv which required special lighting. Most spay auto clear like on your car. A small compressor touch up gun and whatever finish your choose should be ok. I use transtar. Don't have the number of the hardner on hand. But google it. Runs like 110$ a allon including Hardner.

I also spray the Deltron PPG DC3000. Less than $70 a quart with the hardener. No reducer required.
