Each time, you have bumped the cue against something, the bond between the clear finish & the wood was broken & the finish lifted. It needs to be sanded down to the bare wood & refinished. The best person to contact, would be the maker...JER
Blackheart is correct. The finish is not bonded to the cue. Has to be stripped.

Is that a UV finish? When I was experimenting with UV, I found that some woods that have a high oil content like Cocobolo sometimes don't want to bond to the sealer and like was mentioned if you bump the cue hard the UV finish can take it but it can separate under the finish and cause that finger nail look.
Of coarse other sealers over other finishes can lift if they are not prepared properly or are burnished if sanded with too high of a grit during the process. No doubt that the clear coat was looking good until the substrate shit the bed. I recently experienced this problem with one of my beta cues and was advised by some friendly cue makers here about sanding with too high a grit. I usually use 320 but on that cue I used 600 and the substrate lacked the proper foundation for great bonding.
These guys are right, the cue needs a complete sand, reseal and refining job for sure.

From what I'm looking at I'd have to say it's auto-clear, though could be wrong. Usually, UV is thicker.
I'm not seeing the whole cue but if the ONLY finish damage is what I see on the butt-cap and the joint collar, just those areas could be addressed quite easily.
I could be wrong but it looks as though there might be a little butt-cap separation as well, most likely from impact. If so, this would need to be addressed also. Notice the separation line that extends around the top of the butt-cap.
I think it's worth mentioning, because the topic is current, that in the enlarged butt-cap pic, you'll notice that the clear-coat flaked right off the metal ring (very top of photo). As I stated in the other thread, shiny metal offers nothing for the finish to 'bite' into. It relies on the finish on either side of the ring to support it.
Sometimes, it's like you could just stare at it real hard and it will lift.
I know that sometimes stuff happens but there's a lot of times when it shouldn't.
